SnowRunner Review

"An earnest, unapologetically tricky, and time-consuming trucking experience, SnowRunner's peculiar brand of off-road ordeals is oddly addictive, deep, and rewarding when played in the right spirit. It's not often we see an authentic, slow-paced delivery sim that doesn't baffle you with nonsense or try to upsell you a $2,000 jacket, but SnowRunner's no slouch."

I'm a truck driver in real life and then I play this in my bunk when I'm done driving for the day, somebody help me
-
This is definitely a listen-to-a-podcast-while-you-play sort of game
-
I played for hours and it is oddly addictive and extremely enjoyable. The graphics are beautiful and the physics surreal. I feel like a kid again playing with my Tonka truck in my backyard mud pit.

That game engine. Damn. Some AAA games don't even get close.

Ah, the best game reviewer we meet again!

Considering how much I enjoyed Death Stranding, this looks right up my alley.

I'm surprised IGN missed the purpose of the unlocking upgrades by level system. Each map is supposed to upgrade in difficulty level as the player progresses. The upgrade system allows the player to match their vehicles abilities with the map difficulty without making it too easy. This also encourages the player to play each map in order as opposed to skipping around. Especially with the planned DLC coming out. The developers didn't want someone just starting out at level 2 and be able to go knock out Taymyr, let alone Kola Peninsula. If by chance you do try such a feat, the difficulty level will match what the player was hopefully expecting. I played the maps in order and reached level 30 (the max level) by the time I was completing Taymyr. Even at max level the DLC Kola Peninsula is rather difficult. Michigan would be way too easy at max level. Besides this, I do however agree with the rest of the points made in this video. Well done. Cheers

I remember seeing this advertised randomly before a video, normally I just skip ads but this one hooked me.

This review was spot on! Great job!! I like the game, but it does have some frustrating problems as you mentioned! At least in spintires and muddrunner you start off with the right gear for the job and can have fun right away.

Surprised Amazon hasn’t released a delivery version that helps train people how to remotely drive future trucks...

Wow the second strand type game
-
This game looks like fun, I hope they consider VR support! It would be so cool to negotiate that rough terrain from the viewpoint of the cockpit!

This game is so much fun. Didn’t expect much when I first bought it about 6 months ago. I’ve been playing it Non stop ever since.
-
Funny how the best game engine in a while has come out for a game about a truck boi.
