I don’t get how they want us to have experience if they won’t even let us have the opportunity

I'm a really socially awkward person as well as shy, and when I got accepted for a group interview I was so excited then I realized I had to stick out from all the other 40 people in the room.I was EXTREMELY underdressed compared to everyone else, so I thought from the start I had no chance and I gave up. But the interviewer said something along the lines of "we're not looking for how many skills you have on your resumè, we're looking for personality" so I gave it a shot I told them I'm EXTREMELY shy and a very awkward person. They encouraged me to do my best and I did now I work casual and am already being promoted to full time. Within two weeks of working. Just never give up!!

1: I cannot hire you, you don't have experience. 2 : I cannot have experience if you don't hire me. Black hole paradox.
  • Whoever is reading this i pray for restoration in whatever you had lost whether it's relationships, health, marriage, finances or business. May the lord bless you to be a blessing to those around you. Blessings

cant sell yourself if they wont call you in for an interview after you apply on line

Finally landed an interview at Walmart as stocking. I'm super nervous because I've never had a job because of my bad anxiety. I've finally gotten some help with it and now finally getting a job interview after applying at a few other places.

I just graduated from college. I needed a job. And I'm having a job interview soon. I'm a very shy and awkward person. And I recently moved to the US. Although I don't have problems with speaking English, sometimes I get awkward speaking with people. But I always thought I needed to have a job for myself and my family. I need to be confident and positive! I CAN DO THIS! 💪🙌

I see you're trying to help but it's no use...I have no experience and I have been looking for a job for 2 years in order to gain some experience. I have applied to many jobs and no one calls me back, all the employers only want people with experience and no matter how much you ''sell yourself'', or show how confident you are, they will never hire you. They only care about money and if you don't have experience in the field they won't give you any chance, later they blame homeless people for being ''lazy'' and scream at them to go get a job... it's a sad truth.

the personal branding technique seems interesting, however i need practical examples/instructions in order for me to understand better.

She is dead on. I just experienced this in a third job interview, I was so nervous about being so close to getting the job, that I didnt say much I didn't lead the interview. She is so right. omg. so right. sell yourself but don't over sell yourself, be confident not arrogant, as an employer who is the perfect candidate. Be proud of who you are let them know how capable you are so you stand apart.
  • Thank you, Linda for making videos like these. I learned so many things from you. I passed all the interviews and will have my orientation next week. thanks for those helpful tips.
  • @KrimsonKloud
Have had 7 jobs, I'm 23, but I'm finding it harder and harder to get hired somewhere. Even after graduation. A lot of my past work experiences have been temporary, part time, intern, and only 3 have been full-time. I'm thinking of just winging through self-employment, starting an online retail business, though I know that's an unpredictable avenue as well.
  • I just recently graduated college but I am having a hard time receiving a phone call for an interview because I lack experience.
  • @dammi8331
I feel so enlightened upon watching this video. I only got my diploma last year and my first job was so outside of the box compared to what I have studied. Now that I got my license, I tried searching for work favoring my chosen field and that is my primary concern, being an applicant who lacks relevant experience. I am scheduled for an interview and I really hope I get to rock your tips. Thank you anywys! :)
  • @treasurenglory
I think this video offers some great advice, however it doesn't match the title. If someone literally has no experience, then they're likely not gonna be called for an interview. She's assuming that you're selected for an interview. Finding your first job is tough, but after that it gets easier.

I'm 18 and had never had a job before not necessarily because of anything serious, but because I wanted to focus on my grades and my clinical internship I was doing. When I graduated, i realized I needed a job so I started applying to places like crazy before starting college . Started out working at Arbys now I'm a receptionist at a tax agency. All in 2 months.Big moves take progress and effort.
