Agad’s commentary is so good that StockFish resigned at move 11 because he couldn’t wait to go watch a review of the same game by Agad
  • @yourstruly1234
This was probably the best game of the round..nice saxrifice from Nepo but Hikaru defended well

Im not sure about chess, but i think it is always proper to stand for a hand shake.
  • @p_7521
This was a thriller of a game regardless of a draw. Kudos to both ian and naka🙌

    Agad!
Great to have the boxing title card before the matches, really enjoy this and Thanks again for including photos from the event, no other youtuber does it and ita awesome to see.
  • @pozzowon
1:09 great photo, total dedication by the players to avoid eye contact.
Kind of weird choice of coffee cups, one a metal cup and the other a paper Starbucks cup
  • @strikerrxdd
Nepo has a safe king so he wants a safer king 💀
  • Your videos are the reason I became average at chess (1200-1400) from absolutely terrible, ever since I started watching them in 2017. Thank you for all your work.

I am from Pakistan; there isn't a popular chess culture here but I would like to instill the love for the game in my nephew (almost 4 years). Any game plan I can follow for this purpose?
  • @swervbe
Great game to watch live, the eval bar telling everyone Hikaru ahead most of the game created amazing tensio.
  • @rohan1864
Not only did Hikaru have an advantage throughout a large portion of this game, he obviously dropped some godly prep on Nepo, as he still had 1:30 when Nepo had 45 minutes left. The photo doesn't capture the true atmosphere there, Nepo was under serious pressure, he was lying his head face down on the table at times. And Naka must have been a bit disappointed in the end, with that much time advantage you know you have chances, even just due to time pressure alone. He lost his edge exactly after he played a4. Knight d to f3 would have still kept it.

Sometimes I watch so many bullet games of Hikaru on streams and such things, that I ALMOST forget he is freaking 2789 on classical rating.
    Insane game, indeed.
  • Hikaru really needed this win. It doesn't look like much, but it's going to be tough to win the tourney still behind a point on Nepo.
  • @dilejjja
Check out their press conference after the game, it's amazing. They were blitzing out variations for some 10-15 minutes.
  • I miss your videos, because I don't get here for a while...your awesome making this videos, keep it up!

After Re8, there is an incredible forced draw. It starts with
    Ne5 f6
    Nxd7 Rxe1
    Nxf6+ gxf6
    Qxc7+ Kg6
    Nf3(to stop Rg1#) Re2+
    Kf1 Bxf3
and thats a forced draw regardless of whatever you play as white. Qxb8 will be met with Rf2+ where you have to repeat with Ke1, Re2+ and Kf1 as Kd1 leads to Nf2#. Other line is lets say you try to stop Rf1+ with Be3 sacrifice then Rxh2. You gotta run because of threat Rh1+ Bg1 and Rxg1# so Ke1 and Re2+ Kf1 is also a forced draw as Kd1 leads to Nf2+ where Bxf2 is forced and Re7+ wins the queen and black's up a full horse. If Bxf2 isnt played then Nd3+ followed by Rb2 is mate. A notorious line shown by Nepo in the press conference.
