X4: Foundations is the latest title in the popular X series of space simulation / sandbox games, played as action games from a first-person perspective in a living breathing universe, with TRADE FIGHT BUILD THINK as the common tag-line. X4: Foundations is unique in its depth, simulating an entire universe of NPC ships and stations, forming a realistic economy. It consists of a huge universe, simulated from the bottom up. Hundreds of stations, and thousands of ships, trade goods among themselves. Prices change based on supply and demand; resources are mined and processed in several stages. This economy is linked directly to the simulation of major conflicts in a universe with dynamically-acting factions. Every player decision can dramatically change the future of the game universe. Step in and live your very own space adventure!

"But unless you're doing an Argon Only Playthough..." So anyways, that line got me 50h into an Argon Only Playthough. I only make Hull Parts, and Computronics, because Closed Loops make that work for everything.

One niche benefit of the Jian is that it's a great craft to land on a player owned capital ship. The turrets will assist and fire depending on the settings. I've helped out my poor asgards turret coverage with a Jian before.
  • A Jian fitted with flak turretes and parked on the deck of you capital ship enhances the defence against fighters extremly. Fighters can not do harm to your capital ship anyways, but wave after waves of them often pin your automated ships on a certain spot and keep it from traveling. An additional Jian solves that problem.

Your really pumping these out lately, love it! Keep doing the Pontifex's work to get people ready for Avarice.

I used the Cerberus as my first medium combat ship for one very important reason. I found one abandoned, and took advantage of the 5 finger discount. Appreciate the video!

When i first saw the Teladi Peregrine, it instantly reminded me of the Mars Gunboat (I think that's its class) Rocinante from The Expanse. I bought one and its so much fun spraying thousands of rounds into enemies.

Leaving jians docked on capitals makes them additional turret platforms to increase capital damage projection Those top turrets are a secret weapon

One advantage not mentioned about the frigates is their ability to have a docked S-class fighter. This can be a huge benefit, particularly when using them to hunt scale pact destroyers. I have 5 Cobras with thermals, each with a Chimera running burst rays, for the purpose of capturing destroyers. 25 veteran (or elite now in my case) marines will normally overwhelm anything except a Rattlesnake, in which case just bring all 5.

Would love to see some new content from you man, coming back to x4 while waiting for starfield and definitely missing my favorite x4 content!!
  • Really glad I found your channel, love all the information your putting out. Im new to X4 and so far been having a rough time, but its an amazing game
  • @Mazer_Duck
Would love to see a similar guide to capital ships! Thanks for making these they are great!
  • I still find myself in the Dragon most of the time. 6 weapon slots give great versatility and i can carry my two Heavy Swarm launchers without sacrificing gun power. Falx is a bit more of my fun toy for messing with the xenon stations. 4x Heavy Cluster launchers enables you to oneshot the graviton turrets and playing catn-n-mouse with the defense drone swarm is just good ol fun. The six engines make it by far the most expensive medium ship though.

I have to give you props for memorizing all this stuff. I dont know why I cant memorize all this stuff. These are some really awesome ships, and I wouldn't have known about them if it were not because of you or this video. (Subbed because of this video) ✌️😎 So much great info in this great video. Thank you.

After I tried playing around with some corvets as a personal craft, I couldn't really get the hang of them. too big and bulky for my taste, and the shield recharge delay is too long to go and fight some xenon, without needing to run away and take a coffee break once in a while. Fighters can dodge all damage for long enough to charge shields back to full... but then I decided to try out falx as a boarding vessel and it is extremely good at it. 4 main guns, 25 marines, what's not to love? it's really easy to capture large freighters and miners with such amount of marines. If I have to board a destroyer or anything XL, I just give up with the doing it myself part, and bring a shark. I hope one day there's an option to board stations too :D

Add these to your playlist, I was watching the whole playlist and thought you finished making X4 games July of last year :D Thank You so much for the videos!

A niche use of the Osprey is as a hauler to provide the initial drones to a newly built station. The Osprey can ferry 17 drones at a time.
  • @joshualee3059
Love your videos! Very well presented information thanks
  • @Troublechutor
I got a free Osprey early on (not sure if it was a story mission or just luck) and holy crap it changed my game entirely. Got a gun boat to help with fighters and put a fighter and scout on protect orders and it's been the core of my early/mid game experience.
