No, Youtube. This is not Soma.

I’m usually cynical about “Lovecraftian inspired” bait, but this actually had more elements than tentacles and eerie music. And for that, I am thankful.
-
Disguising loading screens as in-universe loading screens is amazing.
-
Cyberpunk and Lovecraft? That is something you don't see everyday.
-
6:08 I've said it before and I'll say it again. This creature has the most Lovecraftian sound design I've ever heard. It sounds like it has vocal organs so divorced from anything terrestrial.
-
I wish Cyberpunk has such cyberhacking reality clusterfucks at one point. This game's atmosphere is intense. It's not only the environment but also the absence of human interaction in a physical plane. It makes you feel as if the whole time the protagonist just travels in-between cyberspaces.

Every Lovecraft inspired game's objective = Release the Chulthu

The voice acting seems on point, and the OST is I believe heavily inspired by Bladerunner. The game seems very solid, the setting unique. If the reviews are good I`m getting this one.
-
Note: I covered an earlier build of this a while ago, so if you saw the playthrough if the previous build you may want to skip to round 16:00 Edit: Spelling mistake! :)

Damn, this is giving me really strong 90s cd-rom adventure game vibes. The only thing it's missing are some nice, cheesy FMV cutscenes.
-
I sense some strong Observer vibes. This game looks great and I'm surprised that I just learned about it. Thank you ABG

The blue orb sounds like Leonard Nimoy.

It's quite possible Carter's mind is becoming less human as he observes and comprehends greater cosmic truths like what he learned from the jellyfish. This in turn is making his alien brain easier to detect in cyber space.
-
The Lovecraft influence is obvious, but did anyone else pick up on the Power Rangers influence as well? No? Well I’ll be damned if the High Priest of the Dheryal isn’t just a fleshy version of Alpha 5 from Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers: The Movie.

This game looks very impressive, the visuals are stunning and unsettling, the voice-acting is great and the hacking mini-game was creative. Will definitely be checking out the full game.
-
This game has some familiar game elements that we all know, but this futuristic and cosmic horror blend weirdly works, all Lovecraft inspired pop culture tend to be tied to the twenties and the usual suspects, this feels fresh, sounds like the people involved tried to put their own vision on the game.

0:47 With that voice I expected the orb to say "En taro Adun"

There's been quiet a few of these games where the plot of the aliens or the Great Old Ones is explained right away, or it's easy to grasp, or the aliens are rather humanoid in nature. At this point it's lovecraftian only in the idea of esotheric aliens using a mix of magic and tech. If devs really want to use this style, then they best look into the Dreamlands, it would fit them much better.

Dark City meets Blade Runner meets Johnny Mnemonic meets Naked Lunch with hints of 'In the Mouth of Madness' and 'Phantasmagoria 2: A Puzzle of Flesh'. Edit/Note: Might be some Videodrome in there too. Might as well mix some Cronenberg in with yer Lovecraft, right? 45:30 Reminiscent of Half-Life. 45:37 "And you will face the sea of darkness, and all therein that may be explored." (That won't mean anything to you unless you're into Lucio Fulci films.) 45:50 Reminiscent of 'The Void' (which also pays homage to both Lovecraft and Fulci).

I love this channel so much. Thank you for putting out such good content from lesser known games
