  • It doesn’t matter what I fall asleep to, I always wake up with this guy in my ear for some reason

I don’t think our history books have ever told us the truth about anything….and now that we are learning more about our history from all races and cultures, people are wanting to make it disappear because they don’t like what happened but no matter what happened in the past it’s still everyone’s past and history and instead of trying to make it go away we should be trying to learn from it so we can make things better

I have heard stories of a Welsh priest who was captured in the Louisville KY area in the 1700's by the local natives. When he thought he was facing death he prayed out loud in Welsh, to his shock the locals answered him in Welsh. They told stories of a white man "many moons before" who traveled to them named Madoc. There was a Welsh prince in the 10th century named Madoc who traveled west from Wales never to be seen again

History channel used to have so many good documentaries and shows that actually taught you history same with TLC and travel channel, now it’s all “reality” TV which is hard to watch.

Aww! I love that the Tucson relics were genuine and the grandfather vindicated. ❤

Ok, y'all. This underground chamber in Pennsylvania is a spring house. This is how people kept their milk and other perishable foods cold prior to the advent of refrigeration and rural electrification in the 1940's. The basin collected cool water and you would put your milk in a bucket or bottles down in the pool of cool water. My mother told me that her Uncle's spring house had an insulated metal door with a rubber seal, just like modern refrigerators. This was circa 1940. The perfectly round pipe and squared off cement in this example tell us it is not ancient in origin.

Ppl are so simple minded if they really think ancient ppl didn’t travel and have communication with one another

Am I the only person to think that maybe Stonehenge is not only an astrological alignment, but also global information kiosk ? visitors can come, align the marks, then travel on that line to visit other ancient buildings. maybe it is like that signpost in the show MASH with post that has has pointers to other important places.
  • I made it through 2 hours at 3 am. Thanks History for helping me get back to sleep with some great content 😀

Visited Americas Stonehenge as a child during the late 1960's during a school trip by bus with my whole school class. It was then called Mystery Hill. I later revisited the site known as it is known today with my son when he was young and a lot had changed and had been discovered. It's such an interesting place. I'd actually like to go see the place again. Very interesting discoveries indeed. Seems like every several years I check out this place online to see where it stands as far as knowledge learned. If the site doesn't already...they should put a covered roof over the important stone features.
  • @plebbin.
I grew up in NH and have been to American Stonehenge multiple times. I've been waiting for this show. walked all the grounds for hours and hours.

That “secret chamber” is an old dairy. It was used for keeping cream and butter and other foods cool during the summer months. It looks like it was built by a German immigrant. We have them here in southwest Virginia. I bet if you looked close by you’d find a foundation to the old homestead made out of the same stone.

I grew up in a one room schoolhouse raised by my grandfather and we had a cold well that looked much like that one. I'd like to see if there are any steps in front of the door. We had to dig ours out every 10 years or so, as dirt flowed down the hill it was built into and filled it up. People used to think it was a ritualistic site or some sort, but it was just where we stored our butter and eggs basically. If you could sample the material the sharp edges were made with, you might find out that it's concrete, and not solid stone. Some of ours was stone, some was high quality concrete from poured forms.
