3 HRs Watching Airplanes, Aircraft Identification | Plane Spotting Miami Airport [MIA/KMIA] #2

Published 2023-08-27
Welcome to the second 3-hour installment of many at Miami Airport. This airport is the gateway to South America and the Caribbean into the USA and gets a lot of unusual airlines that you wouldn't typically see anywhere else in the USA.

I filmed this video from the southern side of the airport beside runway 09 for the first part of the video. I then moved over to 2 different spots for the remaining segment of the video. A spot on a freight carpark overlooking runway 09 and the other on a mound beside runways 12, 08L and 08R.

The goal of this video is to show how busy Miami Airport is. This video focuses on the afternoon rush of flights, which consists of lots of South American and European flights. One huge highlight I filmed in this video is the British Airways A380 which is the only A380 service to Miami currently and also the largest commercial plane in the world, which is always a sight to see!

  • The last 30-40 minutes, was pretty much 737s and A320s and most of the jets were American Airlines planes. Perhaps I'm being petty; but this is testament to the fact that the glory days of aviation are over. In the 70's and 80's, there was a greater variety of airlines and airplanes- it was a true treat. Nowadays, it's almost boring but I still love watching planes take-off.

Love all the freighter action. The beautiful retro Cargolux 747, all the 767s and the Polar Air 777 going to Incheon. All the 737s and A320s…..meh.
