Man I love vintage videos. It doesn’t matter where it was filmed.
  • So many memories, I turn 21 1972, went to Vegas 3 times a year during the '70s. Stayed at the Westward HO. motel, largest motel in the world at the time. $12.00 a night rooms, 25 cent hot dogs..Next door was the Stardust hotel and just inside the door was their lounge shows, couple dollars for a drink, and got to see 3 acts over a two hour period. $1.99 buffet, wow life so much fun in those days.

First time in Vegas was 1976! Loved the gambling back then. Won buckets of silver dollars like $800!! Played and won slots lots of times. Loved driving downtown too. Gambling downtown was so much better. Buffets and drinks so cheap back then. No kids around either. I was single and in my twenties living in Los Angeles and could drive there in 4.5 hours. Loved it and miss the 70’s sooo much!

Wow-I lived there from 1978-1980 (sophomore and junior year at high school). It was awesome. Really brings back memories. Notice how thin every one was back then?! What have they done to our food supply since that time?!

Thanks for posting this! I grew up in LV throughout the 1970s, and it was so cool back then. It was glamorous on the strip at night in the hotels and casinos. Beautiful women and men were dressed in evening wear and had an air of sophistication to them (as seen through my childhood eyes anyway). The performers in the strip and downtown were old school entertainment legends still (Ann Margret, Joan Rivers, Sinatra, Dean Martin, Liberace, Ginger Rogers, etc)., and most of the fabulous original hotels were around. When I was in my 20s, I did go see Tom Jones perform at the MGM Grand, which was probably the most Vegas-y thing one can do...lol. The city since the late 80s is now just full of stupid themed hotels, 15.00 cocktails and a-hole college guys and their thot girlfriends. It’s so sad!

Went to the neon graveyard last year. Made me so happy to see some originals, they've saved so many gems from this time period.

Las Vegas was fun back then! We would travel from Los Angeles in my Dads Van, Park in back of Silver Slipper Casino and sleep overnight in his van. I miss those days - 1977.
  • Love the old neon signage it was better when the mob ran it it had character now it's a corporate dump hole-now
