the true annoying thing about fujifilm is how outrageous pricing has gotten both new and used markets... some of the cameras are going for more than their retail prices now...
  • @grainybrews
I’ve been shooting with Fujifilm professionally for the past 3 years now, and I have to agree with the autofocus issue… if they can fix that, I think many more people will seriously consider the system for pro work. You can’t deny they make great cameras though. I think the sensor just adds a certain ‘vibe’ to shots that makes it so easy to edit in post, be it photo and video. Ive been loving your photos mate, keep it up!
  • I’m so happy (and lucky) about the fact that as an artist, I don’t need to worry about autofocus and any of those technical stuff. For me, the XT-5 is all about the joy of photography. It delivers images that look and feel way more warm and organic than my previous Nikon system, and that’s all I need
  • I own several Sony cameras (A1, A7SIII, FX6...). The XT5 is the camera I enjoy shooting with the most when it's not paid work. I tried several times to use my Fuji cameras professionally both for photos and videos, but I came to the conclusion that the autofocus issues prevent me to have full confidence in it. The XT5 is a fantastic every day/family/travel/casual portraits camera, but I can't rely on it for paid work most of the time.

Been shooting Fuji for 10 years. The latest being the XT4. Bought an A7iii on a whim and it destroyed me. Sharper images. Insane eye autofocus that doesn't miss, even on fast moving subjects. Incredible battery life (Like 1000 photos and it's still 50% or better, compared to Fuji where it's almost dead at 300 shots). Full frame goodness. I dumped Fujifilm and I'm not going back. Now I have a Sony A7C and I'm extremely happy.
  • Got an XH2s a few months ago and switched to XT5. The former was a beast of a camera but I felt more creative with the XT5. And for what I need it to be, it delivers. Happy with it.
  • @rickyboller
Thanks for your video. I have been using the XT-5 for several months with various lenses. I don't have the slight blur in your photos with my XT-5. My pictures are absolutely sharp. I use the XF 23 1.4, the Tamron 11-20 2.8, Tamron 17-70 2.8 and XF 70-300. I didn't notice this blur on any lens. Maybe you'll have your XT-5 checked once. That doesn't seem normal to me. Many greetings from Germany. Ricky

Coming from a Sony system for 8 years & switching to an XT5 in Dec of '23, I find the Fuji menu system very refreshing & more intuitive than Sony! The one thing I cannot explain is that my fuji XT5 makes me want to go out & shoot & create an image! My Sony felt more like a "work" camera. I totally agree that Fuji needs to up their game on the focusing system!!! If I need to hit a tack sharp focus on my subject, I switch to a single point & move the box to my subject's eye. Having to do this all the time is very annoying! I've been watching your channel for a while now & love your perspective!
  • I am still using my old xt4 , and I think it will still be in use for some more time!!! I absolutely love it!
  • Nice review and great pictures. For the apparent softness of some images, as some body else already told it could be caused by lightroom, who is not optimised for the xtrans structure of the sensor. Another tip is to set to -4 the noise reduction. For Fujifilm the 0 is actually applying some noise reduction who could give some more softness to the images. The "real 0" is -4.
  • @jonasfrey9649
The sharpness could be a lightroom problem.. Maybe try capture one and compare the sharpness, it does make a difference if you go in 👍
  • @JakeChambersOy
Could you please say which firmware you were using during the production of this video. The X-T5 was never on Sony level with AF-C + Subject/Tracking. But with v3.01 it got noticeably worse. They semi-fixed it with v4.00 last week. But still, on v2.10 it was much more reliable.
  • @sigurdrille9693
Thank you, spot on! I personally think the images of my XH2 are quite sharp when I am using the JPGs directly for edit (which I sometimes do, speeds up the workflow). Whenever I use RAW files (like mostly for my wildlife photos) I always use DXO Pure Raw, as already mentioned by others in their comments. I think the weight and size to image quality ratio is very good with Fujis APSC system.
  • @pursueadventure
Dang those shutter issues are interesting to hear with Nikons commonly going past 800K.
  • @louisecharbou
Hi! Loved your video. I was wondering, where did you print your photo?
  • @TonyReidsma
Nice video and delivery. Very nice. I have a couple XT5’s with the Viltrox 27 and 75 lenses and use those mainly for photos (really like these), and an XH2s with a speed booster and manual lenses. The reason I keep using Fuji is the overall image quality and colors. I use a set of LUMIX S5 II bodies for all my talking heads that require AF. I just can’t rely on Fuji’s AF for my client work. Keep up your videos. Nicely done!
  • Wow Gerard! Great video man on the fujifilm xt5 it is really a nice photography camera. are you travelling to germany? let me know!
  • @iandisney4872
I can't comment on the XT5 as I don't own one. I do shoot with an XS10, an XH1 and an XT1. I generally shoot single shot AF (though sometimes with MF assist) and over all the images I have taken (only about 10,000 over less than 2 years of ownership) I can honestly say hardly any were not in focus. Also I'm generally shooting landscapes. So, having read all the comments about AF maybe the conclusion is that the reliability depends on the use you put the camera to. I think for the average amateur it's a fine system and I just love picking up one or maybe two of my cameras and taking pics with them.
  • @GeoffGrant2010
Very helpful! I subscribed. Did the new firmware make a focusing difference? Thanks. Geoff
  • OH man I really have been wanting to do some bigger prints!? Are you using a service? or have something at home?
