Comet NEOWISE is the most exciting comet in the northern hemisphere since Hale-Bopp in 1997.

I sit down with Alyn Wallace to discuss photograph tips for this comet, and the emotions this astronomical event draws out.

NOW is the time to look for Comet NEOWISE in the early morning sky - soon to be DUSK!

As an Australian, can I just say that I'm extremely jealous of you northerners and your fancy pants comet

The topic of "how to" quick and easy Neowise capture has been on my mind for days - thanks Trevor for answering this for me!

That “this is not a drill” moment when you saw NEOWISE and rushed inside, is just priceless:D Inspired by Alyn Wallace’s very first video on NEOWISE, I went out on Saturday morning with my wife and our 7y old daughter, very special and emotional moment the first time you see it with your own eyes!
  • I go to college in an amazing place. We have a clear view of the horizon and a beautiful night sky. I am at home right now because of the pandemic. I live in a big city and you can probably imagine what the sky is like. Sirius looks like a dim little speck from here. It's frickin depressing. And somehow, right when I had to come back here, everything special decided to happen all at once. I missed the annular eclipse because of clouds (just like I've missed every other eclipse in the past 5 years). And now I'm just going to have to sit here as the comet does it's thing and returns back to the outer solar system... I hate this crap so much I wanna cry. Ik I'm ranting and nobody cares. But I don't give a damn, I just can't keep it in anymore. This is so damn broken.
  • I have learned SOOOO much from AstroBackyard! Thanks for being so dedicated and for sharing your journey. I refer all of my astro friends to this channel.

I live in the arctic. We're still in 24 hrs of daylight here. I've followed both your channels for over a year. You're both brilliant astrophotography advocates and educators, inspirational. You two should team up in person for events once this pandemic is over.
  • Such an absolute pleasure to watch your videos. The composition, music, and narration are the best on the web regardless of topic. You personally are getting me so excited about diving into this hobby.

Hahahaha, i like your "HUH!" when you saw the comet and then ran for the setup :D Very good vidoe, Trevor, i really enjoyed it! I feel like this comet is some kind of blessing in time like this, with Corona and lockdown. From what i have seen, i can say that it unites people and makes their day\life just a little bit happier.
  • Yeah, I loved Alyn's reaction, yesterday. He does some amazing work. Hopefully I'll get a shot of it in the following days.
  • @AstroLaVista
Thanks Trev, that was fantastic seeing an interview with Alyn, his images and YT videos are just inspirational, and his last Neowise video just blew me away! I must have snapped 50-60 images of Neowise last night, I just couldn't stop staring at it whilst my camera kept clicking :)
  • I was hoping this would happen one day. both of you are my inspiration for astrophotography. Thanks for the amazing content you put out.

Being in the Niagara area I always endeavour to update my observing skills. Thanks for your informative videos as they help me through the technical aspects that make this hobby so enjoyable.
