I feel like each man in the story saw her as a different trope or stereotype if that makes any sense? Like her husband saw her as a trophy wife. Tom saw her as a woman in need of a man to save her. Her attacker saw her as a bitch who relished fucking up his life. His brother saw her as a victim. Meanwhile, no one saw her as a whole woman with her own personality, desires, fears, and dreams. She was just an empty vessel for whatever they decided she must want and need.

She is a Hollywood survivor, brilliant and a national treasure
  • I love that people whine because she doesn't act like a victim "should", but quite honestly, some people can only take so much abuse before they no longer have a "flight" option to fight or flight, they just have "fight", and they will beat ass until they are left alone.

Megan Fox may not be the most versatile actress ever, but she's better then what most people give her credit for.
  • @RhomboMus
Honestly listening to Megan Fox in interviews, she's one of those people who I admired a lot more when I heard her speak. Hollywood did her dirty by always making her roles really very one dimensional or often the same kind of characters.

People: this movie makes me think it's like Gerald's game Movie: isn't like Gerald's game People: how dare you
  • @emilyallen366
I love how this movie is just about Megan Fox being so done with all of the men in her life. Her shitty husband, her attacker who has the audacity to blame her for his problems, her sweet but dumb affair partner who somehow doesn't see the death trap he's walked into
  • Sometimes, I think people think something “isn’t realistic behavior” in fictional women characters because it isn’t what they normally and consistently see in media and fiction. But what we typically see isn’t actually realistic behavior or motivations in women. I’ve spent most of my life as an actress trying to make sense out of plot choices and dialogue that is soooo NOT what most women I know would really do, and trying to justify and portray “authentically” this material that feels like someone put real women into the Google translate box multiple times. It almost makes sense, but just not quite? But when that weird translation of femininity is what’s seen over and OVER it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy of what we expect, and something truly honest feels unfamiliar and phony instead.

I see Amanda talking about a Megan Fox movie. I instantly watch. I need to see one queen talking about another.
  • @flordeespinart
I never understood why Megan Fox wasn't glamorized like Angelina Jollie. I want a movie where is a badass assassin, spy or straight up a superhero or hero enemy like Poison Ivy! OMG!! Morgan Fox &Margot Robbie! straight up goals!!

I don’t think a lot of people realize how financially straining a divorce is and not to mention the possibility of spousal support. Besides, Amanda made a lot of good points on how a narcissist like him wouldn’t have let her go so easily. I’ve had an abusive ex who was controlling and also seemed to relish in seeing me suffer.

I love remote, snowy locations for thrillers! There's something so terrifying about being stranded in the cold in a place with no chance of rescue. I am glad, too, that Megan Fox is getting offers that actually highlight her acting.

It´s so easy to question "why didn´t she leave him?" or "why don´t they get a divorce?", but it´s not that easy to "leave", I leave in a country that domestic violence and feminicide is very high often (also the State I live is the one that most has domestic violence and feminicide). And i´ve seen it very close what is like to be in a abusive relationship, and not everyone can get out of it. Luckly my mom could get out of it. It´s very easy to blame the victim or see no victm, but it´s also very wrong to think that way. Sorry my rusty english

Man, people really threw her in a box by making all of her roles focus strictly on sex appeal. She's pretty damn good at these complex emotional roles. Is she the greatest in the world? No. But if this had been the style of work she received early in her career, she'd definitely have more notoriety.
  • @Lancenuts
Lugging around a corpse for a day seems pretty easy compared to a lifetime of shouldering the weight of the male gaze. Go on and get some, Megan Fox!
  • @BlackReshiram
Damn honestly given what Megan's character's going thru it feels to me mostly like she's not only done but she's also working through shock, like, her ex was abusive and controlling, then he literally blew his brains out infront of her after chaining her to himself, and she's fighting for her life. Not everyone reacts to threats the same way, and not everyone will be hysteric and crying when faced with their attacker. As someone who's been abused for years of my life physically and mentally and was even attacked when almost home, I get really numb when it gets too much for me and break down after. Megan Fox's performance really spoke to me that way, wether intentionally or not, and I think she's so much better than she's given credit for usually.

Jennifers Body was my gay awakening as well as a deep introspection on my own friendships and the movie deepened my love for horror and art. Yet I watched it on my laptop under the covers in the middle of the night and never told any friends. It was a movie I felt I should be ashamed of back then. I'm so glad the narrative is changing now. Justice for Jennifers Body and Megan Fox, a woman who is intelligent and artful.
  • I hope Megan Fox sticks to the horror genre, and hopefully lands a place in A24 or maybe nail a character in a Shudder original. But I would love if she lend her voice for videogames and get the chance to shine.
  • @huxleyable
It's oddly vindicating to se two actresses from the late 2000's who were panned, critisized and hated. Megan Fox and Kristen Stewart, getting sick of people's bullshit and having a comback.
  • @wisp8321
Megan Fox is just so amazing and I hate that her image is so sexualized. People act ridiculous when she doesn't act like the sex object they see her as.
