Alan Ameche sounds like such a gentleman when he speaks. He passed not long after this video was made.

Check out JERRY KRAMER pulling on the legendary Packer Sweep at the 50:28 mark. Freaking badass is the word that comes to mind as you watch Kramer ...who FINALLY made the HOF a handful of years ago, just a half century late!

I had volume 1 on vhs! Watched the heck out of it as a kid
  • I didn't know the NFL films had the NFL's greatest games vol 2 video.I have never seen that one.Pretty good NFL vintage video.I always hated those 1960's Green Bay Packers 🤦‍♂️ Nobody could defeat them in the post season. Its like they turned on a different gear in the playoffs. The remind of the 2000-2020 New England Patriots and I hated them too. 😂😂 Anyways thanks for the upload 🏈

Thanks for posting this. One of my all time favorites from NFL Films.
  • The KC radio call of the Podolak game was just posted. You cannot even discern the announcers the crowd is so loud during Podolak's return at the end of regulation.

The 70's and 80's had some of the most iconic games in NFL history, and this is coming from a Green Bay Packers fan whose team was NOT very good during those years. As a matter of fact in some of those seasons we were absolutely horrible, but I have not only been a Packers fan but also I am a NFL football fan! 🏈 That means I appreciate ALL of the teams efforts and while I may not "support" those teams like I do the Packers, I RESPECT and ADMIRE their experience, their resolve, and their hard work! So I do love to see games played by all of the NFL TEAMS! Not just my favorite home team games. For example the ⚡⚡San⚡⚡Diego⚡⚡Chargers⚡⚡and Air Coryell was one of the most exciting brands of football there was. John Jefferson, Charlie Joiner, Dan Fouts, they were EXPLOSIVE on offense. Their passing game was unmatched. Their receivers were hard to defend against. They were a fun team to watch, and their rivalry with the Oakland Raiders, WOW! THAT was AWESOME, EPIC, INSANE, WILD, and ALWAYS a helluva fight or battle. Madden vs. Coryell. The 70's had another great AFC team, the🐬🐬🐬Miami🏈🐬🏉Dolphins.🐬🐬🐬 Before Marino, Jimmie Johnson, there was the LEGENDARY head coach Don Shula, as well as his legendary quarterback Bob Griese. He had two running backs that were the best tandem in the NFL I had ever seen. Larry Csonka and Mercury Morris. If I remember correctly Csonka was #39 and Morris was #22. Boy they were fun to watch. Larry Csonka was a brute force runner who could pound through the line like a freight train, while Morris was fast, elusive, quick and could spin, juke, fly, and at times it seemed he could just dissappear and poof, then 5-10 yards later he'd pop up again. Another great team to watch. In the 70's when the Green Bay Packers were so awful, the🐬🐬Dolphins🐬🐬 filled that void. The 1970's🐬Miami🐬Dolphins🐬 were my #2 team, and later in the 80's the⚡San⚡Diego⚡Chargers⚡became my other go to team if and when the Packers sputtered out, which happened quite often. But the NFL had epic teams everywhere. The 70's Pittsburgh Steelers were another great team. Terry Bradshaw, Franco Harris, Lynn Swann, John Stallworth, and the STEEL CURTAIN DEFENSE!! Again the Oakland Raiders were another great team. The 70's ⭐🤠⭐Dallas⭐🤠⭐Cowboys⭐🤠⭐ with Roger Starbauch, Tom Landry, their rivals the Washington Redskins, also a epic team at times! As much as this hurts a Packers fan the 70's Vikings were also a integral part of that 70's era of legendary teams, with Fran Tarkenton, Chuck Foreman, Sammy White, the Purple People Eaters defense! 💜 They were a top team as well. As a fan of professional football ALL PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALL I just loved the game, and I LOVED Sunday mornings, the NFL pre-game shows, the NFL highlights from the previous week, and then the GAMES! The local games, AND THEN, the Game of the week! THE BIGGIE! Then of course Monday Night Football was on next🌙night!🌙 Howard Cosell, Frank Gifford, Dandy Don Meredith, and one other whose name eludes me. He was on the 📺TV📺Show, Webster, ah-ha, Alex Karras! When MNF was the iconic show many people remember! It was a great time to be FAN OF FOOTBALL! HARD-NOSED, BRUTAL, UNAPOLOGETIC, HARD HITTING, BONE JARRING, TEETH RATTLING, AND FLAT-OUT VICIOUS BONE BRUISING 🏈🏉FOOTBALL!!🏉🏈 And it was AWESOME! I LOVED IT!

10:20 Roy Firestone...whatever happened to him? I thought there was some bullshit but maybe not. He just kinda disappeared. He's still with us at 70. Man, he was all over the sports scene at one time.
  • When is Volume 3 Coming out? Asking for a Friend Washington vs Houston should be included from the 1991 or 1992 Season.

Bryan Doyle : I just can't tell you, how happy i am to see that you have posted this outstanding, timeless classic produced by NFL FILMS. Hopefully, you will soon post 2 other masterpiece classics, here on your channel : ALCOA FANTASTIC FINISHES. THE MOVIE. NARRATED BY PAT SUMMERALL, and THE SUPER 70's Narrated by the immortal '' VOICE OF GOD, '' himself : The late JOHN FACENDA. Looking forward to them with overwhelming anticipation.

Appreciate Bryan Doyle for all this. I still NFL Films would have shown the correct FG kick @49:15-24. The one they showed had to be Cleveland Browns vs Washington a few years later when the Browns staring putting their jersey# on their orange helmets. Surprising this is, this film was made a few years after 1981 when NFL Films made their NFL's Best Ever Coaches film, and when they highlighted Paul Brown, they showed the actual film of the actual Game-winning FG kick in that 1950 NFL Championship, not that it necessarily went through the goal post, as Glenn Davis may have had a better angle than the camera used:)
  • 1958 there was the greatest game ever played 1971 was the longest game ever played
  • @LeighMet
They need to make a Volume 3 of this
  • Stabler was so clutch in the playoffs If it wasn’t for a controversial no fumble call in the 77 AFC championship game they might have repeated in 77
