This deserves way more attention. A beautifully constructed script and video. Thank you for sharing a part of your childhood with us all
  • the way you described the game of our childhoods made me tear up a bit..unfortunately, my cd broke and i can't play it anymore. thank you for your video, it brought a lot of nostalgia and made me remember the good ol times

4:53 damn no wonder Luigi’s Purple Coins was so hard. Mario getting possessed here
  • 2007 in general was when Mario peaked. Mario Strikers Charged, Super Paper Mario, And this game were the three horsemen of the Wahoo Swan Song.

the ending cutscene makes me cry everytime. nice video!
  • How does this have less than 300 views? This was in my recommended, I’m super happy it was too! I think a lot of those who played it were impacted by it. I sucked terribly at all the race challenges but I pushed through nearly every single one despite how many times I had to retry. I hope this gets the attention it deserves on this platform!!

I remember getting this game along with Mario Kart Wii when I was younger (I was probably 6 or 7) and could not for the life of me get past the first Galaxy. I still have distinct memories of getting stuck on the planet in Dino Piranha with the big rolling boulders you have to spin in the small red spot to break. I would die there over and over and over again and eventually gave up. However, the absolute magic of the game’s opening and the entirety of the first mission (Gateway Galaxy) stuck with me. Not only that, but playing Mario Kart Wii, with all of its various pieces adopted from Galaxy, steered me back towards the game again and again. And eventually, I got better. I got past those big rolling boulders, fought Dino Piranha, and worked my way through the game. I don’t remember much of that initial full playthrough, but the game stuck with me. It stuck with me for so long that eventually I went back and replayed the entire game, this time with the goal of 100%ing it. Yes, even with Luigi. And I did it. Years later, with the release of 3D All-Stars, I did it again. And I did it one more time just last year. I’ve completely 100%’d Super Mario Galaxy three separate times and it still remains one of the most touching and consistently, stellarly fun experiences I’ve ever had PERIOD, and my appreciation for the game only grows and grows with each subsequent playthrough. Your video here illustrated my love for this game so perfectly. It came at just the right time in my life and formed what I view to be peak platforming potential in a video game. Nothing else even compares (except maybe Galaxy 2… lol)

wow I didn't even realize that you only had 82 subs, the video felt super professional, this is so cool dude. keep up the good work!

Loved the vid, you should 100% the game as Luigi and beat bowser again for the final secret level and picture. Maybe do a series on that run.

I’ve never thought of the thank you messages like that when completing a game. I’ve completed the Pokédex in Pokémon games a few times but I’ve never really let the thank you messages from the developers sink in or anything. Great video 👍 also what did you think about Super Mario Galaxy 2 when that came out?
  • @LWinsDoin0

  • All of you diehard SMG fans need to play Outer Wilds I swear. I feel like half of the people who say SMG is their favorite game of all time are going to have a new favorite game after they play it.
