  • I actually used to know a young lady with Angelman Syndrome, her name was Jackie and she was just the sweetest thing, she could talk but not well, and she's laugh and smile at random things, but she was great, I hope she's doing alright
  • @Lindayays
xenoglossy is just way too cool tho
  • I knew my dad (r.i.p) had a condition because he smelled like rusty wet iron nails but I sometimes told him he smelled like fresh catch fish and he would chuckle loudly, God I miss him so much.
  • Xenoglossy just reminds me of when I had a conversation in full Icelandic when I’ve never been taught Icelandic

4:08 i actually have the opposite of this, hyperhidrosis, and it also sucks 😭 i am constantly sweating and the medicine that i take to help combat that dries me out so bad. i’m talking like no saliva in my mouth and skin cracking dry. at this point, i just let myself sweat and always keep antiperspirant and a fan on hand. my dermatologist said it goes away as you get older so let’s pray

Although it isn’t here fibromyalgia could be considered mysterious as well. I have it and it’s debilitating and annoying. It’s definitely a weird thing that even doctors have trouble treating or understanding it
  • One of my classmates has anhidrosis, her face literally becomes red during the simmers and her skin is all flaky. Her mom tells her to put her face under the sink because of how bad it it, it makes me truly realize how grateful i should be because im blessed. I feel so bad fpr her, i cant even imagine how painful it is...

You talked about Angelman as if it were cute when in reality the kid will suffer a lot. I'll just paste it: Angelman syndrome is a complex genetic disorder that affects the nervous system, leading to developmental delays, neurological issues, and certain physical traits. It is caused by an anomaly on chromosome 15, specifically involving the UBE3A gene, which is crucial for normal brain development. ### Key Characteristics of Angelman Syndrome: 1. **Developmental Delays**: Children with Angelman syndrome often show early developmental delays, such as poor head control or difficulty sitting or walking. 2. **Severe Intellectual Disability**: Individuals with this syndrome typically have significant intellectual disabilities and severe speech impairments. 3. **Balance and Movement Issues**: They often have problems with coordination and balance, which is frequently observed as an unsteady gait. 4. **Characteristic Behavior**: They exhibit a very happy demeanor, frequent laughing, and excitability. They may also show hypersociability. 5. **Seizures**: Seizures are common and usually begin before the age of three. 6. **Physical Traits**: These include a small head size (microcephaly), a protruding tongue, and distinctive facial features. ### Diagnosis and Treatment Diagnosis is based on clinical observation of symptoms and confirmed
