Calling it now: Kurt is some version of Koschei the Deathless. The duck/rabbit thing parallels the Chompettes, and who else would have that kind of power but the other iconic Slavic folklore villain? Also "Ivan" is the typical hero in Koschei stories, so having them as a pair would be a good reference. Also, I believe in some stories Koschei keeps his soul jar in a weird chest secluded on a remote island.

Just like Steph found her calling to voice Nugget and Dumpster Hag from Kindergarden, Ash too has found their calling to voice Max in Dread Weight.

I have the feeling Deer Dream is now introducing Koshei the Deathless here. In the folklore of Russia, Koshei‘s death was at the tip of a needle, hidden in an egg, egg in a rabbit, rabbit in a duck, and the duck in a chest. Sometimes it was even Baba Yaga who guided the protagonist of folk tales, Tsarevich Ivan, to Koshei‘s death. …..which makes me as a Slavic person enjoy these games even more. Love the new twist on the lore, and love MatPat covering it!

It’s interesting how Rasberry’s eyes are always lit. Unlike all the other chompettes (not including potato) which might play into how Rasberry has always been different. Not running away from the butcher in the dlc, threatening, not talking.. I wonder how she plays into this.

Cooking Companions is one of the only horror games that made me genuinely unsettled. I'm so glad that the team made another game! Thank you Matt for continuing this series!

32:45 Cooking companion's protagonist/the baba yaga and the Dread weight protagonist are different characters but the new "you" also seems to be some weird supernatural being as well based on what you do to items you can't fit in you inventory such as crushing a sledgehammer with your bare hands
