  • Thank you for watching and sharing your thoughts! I'm not an expert, but as a passionate fan of piano music, I curated this list based on pieces that have resonated deeply with many listeners over the years. They have a timeless appeal and emotional depth that connect with a broad audience. This list is meant to celebrate the beauty of these well-loved compositions from a listener's perspective, rather than from a purely expert or academic viewpoint. I hope you enjoy the video 😊🙏

You state that these are the top classical and contemporary piano pieces which have stood the test of time. I certainly don’t argue that you have a right to your own opinion, but as a pianist with a degree in music composition, in my opinion your choices are, for the most part, incredibly misplaced. Some are outright ludicrous while others, while by some noteworthy composers, are hardly among the most beautiful piano pieces the composer wrote.

Your first choice, by Yann Tiersen, which you call a contemporary favorite, can hardly be called a timeless masterpiece. It doesn’t even rate in the same category as real song writers like Gershwin and Cole Porter. The second, Nuvole Bianche is called a modern classic -- by who? Who would possibly call this piece a classic of any kind. The third, River Flows in You, which you say is known for it lyrical beauty and emotional depth, has neither. First of all, the lyrics have absolutely nothing to do with the quality of the music. Second, it is musically closest to pop music. No outstanding melody and simple harmony - hardly a classic.

Finally with the fourth you actually get to a beautiful classic worthy of the name with Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata, but I don’t know if I would call the third movement beautiful. Incredible - yes. A masterpiece -yes. But beautiful doesn’t do justice to its majesty.

You then throw in some big names, but the selections you choose? A Chopin nocturne? Fur Elise? Rachmaninoff’s Prelude in C# minor instead of the beautiful melodies in his piano concerti? Mozart’s Rondo a la Turk?

I could go on, but I’m done. Again, you have a right to your opinion. I just greatly disagree with your choices.
  • I can't believe you cut short Debussy's Claire Delune 😢😮 only a stark raving mad & crazy person would cut these scores short

All these 16 compositions are indeed very beautiful! But such lists always trigger a number of 'why' questions... I personally miss compositions by Bach, Clementi, Schubert and Schumann... I would also ask you to name the composer(s)/pianist(s) who arranged Vivaldi's Summer and Winter... Thanks.

Every one has their top favorite pieces. Erik Satie's Gymnopidies is one of mine top 10 favorite pieces I have ever heard. Though it's not in this list.
  • Ah no no' " La Campanella" is not made by Liszt I mean, it's a big mistake if barely assumed like that.
La Campanella as its italian name clearly suggests (little funny bell), was composed by the genovese violinist Nicolò Paganini and re-arranged by his friend, Liszt, for piano... otherwise it's a sheer mistification, please, take note!.
    Thank you.
  • @cheranguista

  • @Tizohip
Start with Yan Tiersen 😂 not serious list
  • @Goodnewsglobal
Prelude in C-sharp Minor - by Rachmaninoff at 15min was a mess. Not good enough for this list. Sounded like a child banging on the keys..
