From the financial aspect I can see why you made the leap to downsize. I have moved a total of 19 times within the United States, not counting the moves in Australia, so I'm very much aware of the daunting task it is to move, and for you after so many years at one residence, wow that's a lot of accumulated belongings. Moving from 2500 sf to 819 sf is truly downsizing.

Everything you are saying makes so much sense. I don't blame you at all for not wanting the maintenance or the cost of a big home like that. Our house is fairly small (under 1600 sq ft) and is a ranch style, so laundry and everything is on the main floor. That makes it something we can grow old in, thankfully. We will have it paid off within 4 years, so by the time we are 50. That is such a big relief and something we are so grateful for. Thankfully, aside from cutting our 2 acres of grass, there isn't much other outside maintenance, besides weeding the flower beds in the front of the house. I pulled out most of the flowers several years ago and we just put in some bushes and wood chips, so that keeps things much easier to maintain, because neither of us cares at all about flowers and landscaping stuff. LOL My aunt and uncle have been talking about doing exactly what you did though, because they had 3 kids, who have all been moved out for years at this point, and have this huge house with just the 2 of them. I don't blame them at all for wanting to downsize. I can't agree with you more about not wanting to leave our kids with a ton of stuff to go through. That's why I want to clear our basement out now. There is just no sense in having things that sit in boxes and never get used. All I want down there is my holiday decor, my off-season clothes/shoes, our camper bedding and towels, and the toys we decided to save for our future grandchildren. Nothing else needs to be down there. I hope you'll be able to get into your dream apartment there soon! I look forward to the future videos you're talking about too. I'm excited to see what your apartment looks like! This look turned out so pretty! I didn't even know they made that kind of sunscreen setting spray. That's awesome! tbh I have been thinking about these things myself lately, and I may be way ahead of the curve for my own timeline bc I am not even 50 yet (lol) but bc I truly nearly died in 2021, I have seen life so differently and have been working to downsize my life bc I don't want to be a burden on anyone when I am gone with all my stuff too. I don't want to do that to my kids and I almost did!! had I not found the way to save my life through my research and efforts to find the right Dr who saved my life, my kids and mother and husband would have been left to deal with my massive collection of all my collections! Since then I have been purging and simplifying my life drastically! I commend you for your choices, I have been trying to convince my mother of this bc she is a big time hoarder lol a clean one, but still, I am terrified of what she will be leaving me to deal with / thank you for sharing, enjoyed this chatty grwm

I was so excited to see my sweet beautiful friend. I wud love to see all of the above videos u mentioned. Girly, Dan & I did the same thing u guys did. We went from a 3000sq ft. (counting garage) to this one 1200 sq ft. on 3 1/2 acres. I did not want to clean that big ole house and it needed work as well. we were ready for a carefree life. lol We are renting this house because at the time we did not know what we wanted or where we wanted to go. This house is down the street from my brother. So I completely understand where your coming from. Dan works 12hr shifts 2 days a week and golfs the rest. lol I can't wait to see all your videos. Im so happy to see you. Your makeup looks lovely as ever. BTW, I never put on sunscreen. lol I probably should but I don't but thats a great idea. I need to check into that one. wow I didn't realize your husband worked for the RR, so did mine! He left a few years back when his friend had a tragic train death accident on the job but I haven't known any other "rail roader wives" so know what that life is like and such! neat to know we have that in common! (just as a reminder, I found your channel a long while back bc of Staci's channel and this series, but I found her channel through makeup first a few years ago)

You poor thing! You had some hard times 😢. My house is the same floor plan as yours and my gas bill this month was $924!!! Yes, I want to hear more about it all. I do have an in ground pool so my water and electric it’s higher too. Remember I went in your house for the Estate Sale and your items and furniture were beautiful. I did not need any though. I got a couple of your faux leather pants, I gave one to my daughter. I also got you Victoria Secret silk leopard robe 😊. I recognized it by the nails on the wall next to the closet door 😂.
