    Some great examples of flat picking. Tony Rice, David Greer, Molly Tuttle, Billy Strings and the list goes on. If your truly interested in speed picking. Bluegrass is the best of flat picking there is.

    Also, a good strong/heavy pick. 1.50 is a good place to start. It takes a little to get used to, but the end results are amazing. There's some great makers that have beveled picks designed for speed picking.

    Huh, I had to grab the guitar because I couldn't remember how I flat pick. It's a kind of elbow (arm) + mostly wrist. If I'm jumping across strings a lot, more arm. Never really thought about it. I'll never be Frank Gambale, but it does gives some reasonably good alternate picking speed.
