His Holiness Pope Francis arrived in the Philippines at 5:32 pm via Sri Lankan Airlines A340 for his five-day State Visit and Apostolic Journey to the country.
President Benigno S. Aquino III, together with Vice President Jejomar Binay, members of the Cabinet, the country’s archbishops, and selected children warmly welcomed Pope Francis and his delegation.
As part of the welcome ceremony for Pope Francis, the youth prepared a dance number and two children offered him flowers upon coming down the stairs. The pontiff showed his joy and appreciation by hugging the two children.
From Villamor Air Base, Pope Francis boarded an open-type pope mobile on the way to the Nunciature where he will officially stay throughout his visit. A huge number of Filipinos hoping to see the pontiff lined up the streets of Manila and cheered loudly when the papal convoy passed by. Pope Francis stood inside his vehicle throughout the trip and waved enthusiastically until he entered the Nunciature.

Yes. There are a lot of bad and negative comment about the Catholic Pope, but these only shows' how envious they are to the Catholic Church that Jesus founded 2,000 years ago... Long live Catholic Church! Jesus is with us always...... Amen.

Watching August 2019 and I can't let myself forget the feelings when I saw the Pope personally. Its a mixed emotions but what I assured that moment was I felt a great joy in my heart seeing him personally. I hope this coming 2021 in the celebration of 500 Years as CATHOLIC we will meet and see him again in our country. MABUHAY KA SANTO PADRE!

The Philippines love their Pope. Crowds of millions who were on hand to received the Head of the Catholic church just shows how happy and joyful they are at this historic event.

Naalala ko pa grade 3 pa ako neto. Umiyak ako nung dumating yung pope. Di ko alam bakit pero siguro dahil sa saya. Pagkatapos nun, pagdating ko sa school sabi ngga classmates ko sakin na umiyak din sila. I felt the power of God that time.
