1940 Waco UPF 7 Walk Around

Published 2024-08-18
Andrew King is back at it again. He is ferrying a 1940 Waco UPF-7 from New Jersey to Minnesota. He stopped by for a quick overnight but the weather was great, so he stayed two days. This video was shot in June and I just got around to it. #waco #UPF7 #biplane #aviation #barnstormer #andrewking

The Waco UPF 7, my all time favorite biplane. Growing up 60 years back my dad had a crop dusting business at a small town airport in SW Idaho. We had several Stearmans and an N3N. I was quite taken with the Stearman until another crop duster landed at our strip one afternoon with a Waco UPF 7. Even at 9/10 years old, I thought it was a shame such a beautiful machine had been modified for ag work. It was beautiful even as a down and out duster. After seeing the Waco, the Stearmans looked clunky and ungainly. I've wanted one ever since,..

That is a gorgeous aircraft that someone put a lot of work into. That radial sounds incredible too! Andrew is so knowledgeable, I could listen to either one of you two talk all day long. Glad to see you're doing well and it was nice to see you at the Barnstorming Carnival this year again. Thanks for taking the time to share these videos with us all !

It was so good to see a Dewey Video once again. It's been way too long.

What ever happened to your friend Nancy Bradshaw ? I looked up to her while i was flight training, She had a channel; Nancy Bradshaw CFI and profiles online. Gave lots of advice to student pilots. Like she disappeared. All deleted. She'd just gotten a gig at United, i believe. This all happened the same time that united had a hard landing that creased its fuselage. Not connected I hope. Literally the same week.
