What is the #Instagram #algorithm?
The Instagram algorithm is a set of instructions for how and when to display certain content to any individual user. The algorithm considers hundreds of factors such as user history, location, profile, device, trends, relevance, popularity etc.
From SEO to social media, algorithms are often what determine who actually sees the content you publish and who doesn’t.
As these algorithms change, yesterday’s marketing tactics might become less effective tomorrow. That’s why your strategy on each platform needs to constantly evolve too.
On Instagram in particular, simply posting on a regular basis with the right hashtags won’t necessarily guarantee that your new content always reaches its intended audience.
Instead, you’ll need to consider how you can work with the new Instagram algorithm updates to shake up your approach to Instagram marketing.

Extremely helpful video, i’m frustrated that Instagram refuses to keep its own identity as a photo sharing platform. They want to be every other popular app.

Your tips are on point! For me, I've been using a tool called Boost App Social to create visuals that stand out, and it's helped me get more engagement on my posts.

This is just messed up though because Instagram was always a photo-sharing app but they seem to be getting greedy wanting what TT has...NOW...because they are pushing reels, TT made it very clear last week that they will be open to photo sharing and people are posting photos and photo montages (which are ranking). Why can't these apps pick a lane and give their audiences what they want? People want a Photo sharing app...so now we have creatives moving over to Vero.

from the insights of my posts. I notice carousel seems to have 40% more non-followers views. While reels less than 15%. If reels is the go to for reach, why is it that the percentage doesn't say the same? For the sake of background, the business im handling has 20k followers, 6 posts per week (3 carousel, 3 reels).
