The fact that Rebecca, Keeley and Leslie relied on Ted to say no is interesting. Any of them could have played "the bad guy" and said no to Trent. Out of all of them, Ted is the one who's least likely to say no. Having Rebecca almost immediately turn around and be the one who trusts Trent is very funny. Though arguably that's more her being honest and open about herself, which is something she's been learning to do throughout the series.

I think even if the others had time to talk to Ted privately, he still would have insisted on accepting Trent. Ted genuinely likes and respects Trent. Ted would not accept the idea that anything should be kept from Trent and he'd only see the benefit of having Trent around.
