The blaze forced more than 25,000 people to flee earlier this week. 'We have all seen on the news and social media the horrific pictures and videos coming out of Jasper. Homes and businesses have been lost to a wildfire that people are calling a ‘wall’ of flames,' she said. 'There is no denying that this is the worst nightmare for any community'.

I saw the drone footage. So sorry. 🥺 My beautiful state was hit hard this year, too. Most of a historic town was also incinerated. -- ❤ from 🇺🇸

It is time that the government, who owns most of the land and forests, improve management by installing fire braking fields in the forested areas at least every X km and minimum 100m wide, that can be kept free of plants or used as grazing land.. As well as change the building codes (!!) to ban new combustible housing, and go for noncombustible construction, even for low rise homes especially in forested areas like BC, AB, Norhtern ON, QC, LNF, etc. ! The fires and destruction of homes are the responsibility of the government, both federal and provincial..and ignorance, the wrong "traditions" and stupidity..as always..
