While Sony didn’t have the best of launches when it comes to the PS3, the console was eventually able to pick up the pace and make its run a successful one. The Cell processor was extremely difficult to develop games for, and Sony didn’t exactly have the best pricing but it was the high-quality games that drew people towards the console.

The PS3 was home to some amazing hits including but not limited to first party releases and also third-party games such as Grand Theft Auto 5 and Metal Gear Solid 5. And with this feature, we run down 15 of the best games available on the system.

    Wasn't Splinter Cell Conviction only on Xbox and PC? Pretty certain PS3 never got that game. We got Blacklist, not Conviction.

    Red dead redemption, Maxpayne 3, Last of us, Uncharted 2, GTA4, LA Noire, Fallout New vegas, Fallout3, Mafia 2, Splinter cell Blacklist, Skyrim, GTA5, Sleeping Dogs, MW2, Resistance fall of man, Reistance 3, Killzone 2, killzone3, MGS4, uncharted 3, Far cry3, AC2, AC3, AC Black flag, Dishonored and God of wat 3 are my top ps3 games.

    Red Dead Redemption, Bioshock, Dead Space 2, etc.... I know there has to be a limit to the number of games included, but those are universally considered all time games and didn't even make this PS3 specific list. Lets also take a moment to appreciate Rockstar releases on PS3. GTAIV, Read Dead Redemption, Max Payne 3, LA Noir, and GTA V in a single generation. That is mind blowing.

    Uncharted 2 averaged a 96 on metacritic but I still say its underrated because A LOT of people dont know about its flawless online 10/10!

    I still feel that the best games on the PS3 still hold up very well especially if we're going by Nintendo Switch standards. I'm not sure if PS3 versions of Uncharted 2/3 or Last Of Us can run on the Switch as good as it does on the PS3
