Link (Hero of the Wild) also technically talks every time he responds to an npc or gives one of those lengthy explanations, where he gestures and everything

BOTW/TOTK and Skyward Sword Link both canonically talk through dialogue options
  • Why don't people consider dialogue options as the actual character talking? That's LITERALLY them talking.
  • "Gee, it sure is boring around here" "I just wonder what Ganons up to!" "Great! Ill grab my stuff!" "Im so hungry, I could eat an Octorok!"
  • The thing is, he talks in almost all the games. We, the players, just don't get to hear him talk because he was meant to be a "self insert" type of character where you can put yourself in his shoes. There are multiple times in multiple games where you can even see Link talk but don't hear him(for reasons I just mentioned) A prime example I have is in Skyward Sword where you can see Link gesturing with his hands as he tells Groose, who just fell from the sky to follow Link, about the world under the clouds.

He does speak, he just doesn't have a voice actor. How else would he respond to a person's question or sentence, he doesn't just stare them down
  • he talks hes just using linknese, its a whole entire language that revolves around the words, HYAT, TYAHT, TORYUHAA, HA, Hoho, Rrghhn, UAWAAAAAAA, Nyegh, Horyua, Toh, mmm-mmm, oahhh, and of course Well Excuuuuuusssee me PRINCESS.

Link does talk. Characters in BOTW and TOTK respond to him. If you pay attention in Twilight princess, he moves his mouth sometimes.

“Link doesn’t talk in any Zelda game” he doesn’t talk proactively but he’ll answer people’s questions.

Technically all links talk through dialogue options and even certain cutscenes have them talk even if we don't hear or read what they're saying.

He does talk (when he do quests or talk to npcs and the hand gestures when explaining), we just can't hear him 😆

    WELL EXCUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUSE ME PRINCESS
  • Sometimes when you swing a sword in botw, it sounds like he says "Idiot!" Like hes calling the player and idiot😂

Actually he talks all the fucking time - he just doesn't have a voice actor (or have text) because he's a silent protagonist
