Origami is traditionally associated with Japanese culture, and folding 1,000 cranes is supposed to bring good fortune. But even skilled origamists don't usually accomplish the impressive milestone in just one sitting. Evelyne has just finished her GCSEs at Colchester County High School for Girls in Colchester, Essex. She began folding the little paper birds at 9am on Tuesday, and folded her 1,000th crane at 6.31pm.

In Japan you have a maximum time of one year! Congratulations and thank you.

There was a girl also named Kize who also made 1,000 paper cranes and was able to donate it to the Make a Wish foundation. She is also a songwriter and she has raised 75 dollars, she is still collecting donations for the "Make a Wish" foundation. I just love how miracles happen.

She's so fast. It took me 10 years to fold that much.

In the LA Noire game they say there's a legend that you get one wish if you make 1000 of them.

The Thousand Cranes Technique! Whoever has the patience to fold 1,000 origami cranes shall have any wish granted... What will Evelyne Chia wish for? (that's a Paper Mario: The Origami King reference for anyone confused.)
