Destiny 2's Biggest Nightmare Solo Experience - Have You Tried It?

I ALMOST jumped into Avalon solo this week, then at the last second my brain saved me by reminding me of the fish-in-a-barrel middle bit, and I threw my controller out a window, got up, went out, joined the Peace Corp, and started a new life in distant lands.

Absolutely agree! I'm not a "casual" gamer, at all. I've been gaming since the late 70's. However, I'm seriously tired of games, like Destiny, that have no middle ground to their difficulty. Especially, for solo players. Many of us grew up on hardcore games, but as we've aged, we just don't need that kind of stress in our lives anymore. 😅 Unfortunately, these days the disparity in difficulty is such a huge gulf. It's either kindergarten level weekly missions and vanguard strikes, or it's frustratingly and unnecessarily hard exotic missions and dungeons. "Git gud" or "Just LFG, bro" are lame and easy excuses and only served to alienate and insult a good chunk of your player base. I would happily accept having to replay these missions at a lesser difficulty in order to collect pieces of the exotic or some kind of "coins" to cash in later. You can even give me a less desired color or something to denote that I wasn't hardcore enough to "just kill it on the first go 'round".

Gotta give you 10/10 for persistence and sheer bloody mindedness, also for not hurling the controller out the window with the PS hot on its heels. You do make me laugh though, in the best way.

When this mission initially came out, I saw people having a really hard time doing this solo, so I just said to myself that I don't need an exotic glaive that badly! And since Final Shape dropped, everything seems harder, even strikes. The try hards are winning. It's fine, I will just move onto something else if the bollocks continues. I don't play games to get all stressed out, I play for a break from real life! Cheers for trying Sir Sausage, you are more patient than I lol.

I hate this mission. It's just so unenjoyable and feels like a chore. I get having difficulty in the missions, i actually like that, but this one just feels sooooooo tedious. I was gonna do it last night for the pinnacle and changed my mind shortly after 😂

theres a lot in destiny i just cant be arsed to do these days. Ive done avalon once but the checkpoints are sparse and the rewards arent worth it to me

I LFG'd the normal version after trying it solo, put Vexcaliber into the vault, and haven't looked at it since. I like the Vex/Tron aesthetic, but I never vibed with the mission. Fair play for giving it a go for hours!

I should also say, a while back playing Doom Eternal, The game noticed I was struggling with a final boss (10 deaths). And it asked me a simple question. " Would you like to try a lower skill level?" I said no! It then asked me," would you like some artifice armor"? I said yes, and proceeded to beat the boss 🙂

Don’t worry not alone I gave up never re tried it . Also good on you most of content providers never show there failures

As a solo player that is a warlock main as well, I have found that Devour is eroding my skills to stay alive. In harder content I find myself not being careful and dying over and over cause I've gotten used to devour saving me. So when there are many tough enemies on the fieldI just die over and over It's very frustrating.

That was me during the final battle, in the last mission of the Final Shape. It was all my fault, I kept choking. Came back the next morning and choked some more. I had to LFG the bloody thing. I know this feeling well.
