Sometimes I wish this game got patched. Alex is one of my favorite characters stylistically. But his low game is terrible. His throws don't do great damage and you get no mix up afterwards outside of the corner. His super throw is escapable, stun-gun is terrible, flash chop goes over a lot of characters heads... it's depressing.

Alex's response to dash in makoto is normal throw. It is 3 frames and will beat any input the makoto player will try because they are still in recovery from the dash. He was using back Ferice with alex incorrectly. The mix up is standing ferice as an over head vs back Ferice which can not be parried. Alex gets low threat because his short can be canceled into SA 2 vs getting hit with standing ferice as an overhead. Also the opponent will eat low roundhouse as an effect of this mix up which will put the opponent back into a wake up overhead vs low mix up. If done correctly the average player can not survive being mix up more than three times against Alex after being repetitively knocked down and choosing incorrectly on defense.

Well makoto is among the top 5 since... 1998? J "invented" the text-book makoto, and since then ppl found a little bit more stuff to make her even more awesome little by little, but she has ALWAYS been considered strong/top
