Not sure, if they look at YouTube comments, but I'm pretty sure that the best way to grind for XP in the current situation is to just keep fighting the Bug Catcher with the Level 20 Butterfree. It gives 684 XP for a single pokemon (far and away the most for a single pokemon right now) that can theoretically be one shot by Nick's pokemon. It's also the only pokemon that trainer has, so you won't have to also fight a low XP Pokemon too. If they don't check comments, I'll try to drop in at the beginning of next stream to comment.

So, the reason Genny took so much damage was because Genny is a Rock AND Ground type. Grass does double to Rock and Ground, so Genny was actually taking 4x damage. Be careful with Gyarados because it has a 4x weakness to Electric. It will get one-shot by an electric move from a pokemon way lower than it.

I love how this children's game is confusing to these grown men. With that said, watching them struggle through this game is some of the best content KF has done.

Wow - this IS really stressful lol! Wild how strategic and careful the game becomes with two added rules. I've never even heard of arena trap. Weird thing that only prevented switching out in Gen 3 (from the wiki).
