I love the ships from this era. These were the most beautiful ships ever build. Unlike today's monstrosities, its clear that aesthetics still mattered to designers back then.

This is a highly detailed and accurate scale model of the ”Cap San Marco”, one of the Cap San vessels of the ”Hamburg Süd” shipping company. They were some of the fastest ships of their time, transporting mostly fruit / bananas from South America to Europe/Hamburg. Her sister ship, the Cap San Diego is a museum today and can be visited in Hamburg, Germany, the most beautiful city in the world. You can also see the light red containers with the Hamburg Süd logo in ports all over the world nowadays.

That's amazing to watch such gorgeous model! My father worked on a ship very similar to this one named "Rio Capibaribe" from Brazilian Lloyd in late 60's. Cheers from Brazil.

YA, “ACH DU LIEBER, MEIN SCHATZ”!!! “Sprechen sie DEUTSCH”? “Verstehst du”? Gorgeous model!! How many hours did it take you to MAKE the model, let alone PLAN it?! How much enjoyment you must have had in the making of it! Once it’s done, it’s a “letdown” but then the real “fun” begins showing it off!!! If you are German, you’re a MASTER of what you do! Just finished listening to Richard Strauss’s Ein Heldenleben, another German MASTERPIECE!!! “Rosen auf dem Suden” und “Auf Wiedersehen”! “Gesundheit”!
