This bass... This voice... This drums... This guitar... It's Queen...
  • This song has one of the best Rock'n Roll riffs, thanks to Dr Brian May!
  • This is the sound of the 1970's. Glam Rock Blues and Rock and Roll.

people don't realize that Queen was originally a HEAVY rock band. Thank you, Brian.

"Take your little brother swimming with a brick..." HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
  • I recall buying this album on it's day of release. I locked myself in my bedroom and slowly took off the selophane wrapping. I read the covers and lyrics then put it on the turntable and sat waiting. The organ music came on and lasted exactly one minute and then this song broke into my head and I discovered one of the best albums of all time . I played it so much the disc turned almost white. Is this Queens finest moment?

0:14 when Freddie was singing ooo i genuinely thought someone was bending a guitar string
  • Brian May wrote this song. In a 1976 interview on Capital Radio, Freddie Mercury was asked "why tie your mother down?" Freddie replied: "Well this one in fact is a track written by Brian (May) actually, I dunno why. Maybe he was in one of his vicious moods. I think he's trying to out do me after 'Death On Two Legs' actually." Queen commonly used explosions for effect during live and video performances of this song. During the video shoot, Roger Taylor was blown off his stool and off the stage due to an explosion placed in a bucket on his riser. While watching certain versions of the video you can see the part cut out, where Freddie turns around to face the back of the stage almost immediately. The recording had to be stopped for a moment because Roger was on the floor. Luckily, he was fine, though Brian May states clearly in video commentary, "Nearly killed Roger, it has to be said!

I love the fact that in the band they have an astrophysicist and an electrical engineer as a member yet they put explosions in a bucket of Roger's riser that almost killed him ... classic

Brian May. John Wouldn't. Roger Did. Freddie Definitely Would.
  • This song reminds me of my aunt rose who passed away on February 7th 2022, I remember she always used to play this song when I was growing up. We saw Queen together in 1980. I love you so much and miss you dearly. RIP. My dear sweet aunt.. I have so many fond memories of you and I. You turn me on to Queen when I was only 11 years old. So cheers to you my dear ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️. I remember you always used to play this song a lot when I used to go to my grandma's house and I would go to your bedroom, and hang out with you
