If you’ve been watching our videos, you know that we cover a wide bunch of animated shows and movies, but they’re usually on the lighter side concerning characters and story. Well, we wanted to change things up a little considering that Halloween was just around the corner and we didn’t want to miss out on the fun. With that said, you better not be watching this alone in pitch black darkness, and in case you get spooked, you can’t say we didn’t warn you. And for those of you who love horror, you’re gonna love this one. I’m Keegan with Channel Frederator and these are 107 facts about Coraline.

Another fun fact: Coraline wears dragonfly hair clipper, assuming that’s it’s her favorite bug. We can remember, that spiders don’t eat dragonflies. I think other mother didn’t expect Coraline being strong as dragonfly

I feel the utmost respect for the people who worked on stop motion movies, it all looks hard and complicated yet you can see how devoted and passionate they are with making the whole production. I'm very impressed ❤

Here's another fact! The tools in the Other Mother's sewing kit are actually embalming tools used in preparing a body for a funeral.

Two facts you missed. The Detroit Zoo snow globe actually didn't exist at the time when the movie was released, but it inspired the real Detroit Zoo to actually make and sell them. "Beldam" is also an anagram of "Bad Mel", referencing that she's an evil version of Mel Jones.

Coraline's concept is very intriguing and creative. Kid's movie or not, it's a masterpiece.
  • The concept of the Other Mother being a Spider might also borrow from the poem line "Walk into my Parlor, Said the spider to the fly"

Oregonian here with a slight correction: This video implies that Laika studios is located in Ashland, which is incorrect. Laika is located in Hillsboro, a suburb outside of Portland. Portland is in the northwest of Oregon, while Ashland is in the south of Oregon and a good 4.5 hours away from the Portland metropolitan area :)

Yeah. Infinity Train, Gravity Falls, The Owl House and Amphibia are so light hearted.

Something crazy, just watched your vid from 7 years ago about Nightmare before Christmas, and I looked up to see if you had one about coraline just to see YOU JUST POSTED IT AN HOUR AGO!
  • @anonomyss
I can't begin to imagine the heartbreak if a fire had broken out in that studio while everyone was out to lunch.

Another one linking to 104, you can see the jacket of the little boy in the painting, shoes and the hat of the ghost children’s in the tunnel when Coraline escapes and it’s all dusty and covered in cobwebs.
  • i was nervous to click on this video because i thought i would know everything on the list, but i was pleasantly surprised to discover new things i didn’t know
  • My brother and I enjoy doing stop motion, but it takes a LOT of patience to have it look as good it did in the movie coraline. I grew up watching this movie and it has always been my favorite, thanks for all of these fun-facts!
  • @luzerlmao
Coraline is the most nightmare fuel I've had in my childhood, until now
  • @BeyondBaito
