I legit went to the dealership and asked for a test drive in Elantra N. Literally on the same day of test driving, I ordered one. I was blown away about how good this car drives.

FYI, that rear brace is very easy to remove (I have a video on it). These cars are seriously no joke and the front diff is so smart it can make even the slowest driver fast as hell on track....truly the bee's knees

I don't remember the last time I saw you guys so impressed by a lower end sporty car, that's impressive to me.
  • @Paws403
As an N-thusiast (huehuehue) hearing you guys praise this car has made my friday! Really glad hyundai in the end was able to cobble together all their previous attempts at an enthusiast product and create this beast of a car

GT350 and Elantra N owner here. I bought the EN for my “fun” daily without driving or seeing one. The car really blew me away and continues to blow away my car friends that are used to 600hp+ cars. Extremely capable little car out of the box. I’d say my EN is 70% capable of doing what my GT350 can do when it comes to driving dynamics and handling on the corners.

Hearing and seeing Mark's shock and awe and admissions of brand-prejudice is something all of us have felt for a while with Hyundai and N. Its great to see it cemented in this video and the chops on the track. You guys looked great out there.
  • @billyhughes9776
I love when Mark is legitimately surprised (in a positive) way by a car. The NMan cometh! Great video fellas.
  • @JacobHall1601
Hyundai is one of the coolest brands out there these days, and that’s crazy to say but goddamn they found their groove and make some fucking awesome stuff now
  • @ctrikz_tk8745
And that’s EXACTLY what Hyundai aimed for: FUN! Props to Hyundai for creating fun cars at the price point they’re selling them for‼️‼️‼️
  • @elantran
I've already done 5 trackdays since I got my Elantra N in January. This car is super capable even in its stock form and it can hang with some fast cars on the track. I ran 1:58 at Sonoma Raceway just with yokohama a052 tires and I know I can go faster next time. This car is so much fun to drive!
  • @johnyvds2331
its quite impressive how far these N cars have come, its great to see how competitive they are for their price, well done Hyundai

One thing to note while you guys were under the car was the front lower control arms. They now have bracing on them compared to the Veloster N that has none. Us VN guys have an aftermarket option to buy a set of braces to bolt on to our cars. Crazy because it feels like the engineers do follow what we're doing with our cars and seeing if they can improve upon it. Another thing VN guys complained about was the Pirelli PZ4 tires as the more driving enthusiasts guys bought PS4S and it was a much better tire. They legitimately listened to our complaints and now, Elantra N comes with PS4S! It's honestly crazy how they are observing and listening to the community on making the next gen product better. That's why the Elantra N is a much more impressive car than the Veloster N for Mark to drive on track.

Been waiting to hear Mark and Jack's take on this car because they were practically the only reviewers who didn't fall all over themselves anointing the Veloster N the King of the Hot Hatches. So if they say the Elantra N is legit, I believe them.
  • @godolphinrc2141
Nice job Hyundai! It takes a lot to impress Mark and Jack on the track...
  • @zero11010
I enjoyed hearing the enthusiasm you have for the car, guys! You don’t often seem excited in your content. This was a nice change!
  • @kenbeaver2683
It was fun to see Mark so happy driving this car. I bet it reminded him of why he does this in the first place.
  • @DogwaterHero
I purchased my Elantra N in February and have zero regrets. Stiff suspension doesn't bother me. Everything about the car has been fantastic. I have the DCT and test drove the manual. I truly feel like the DCT takes this car to the next level. (Don't kill me. I love manuals, drove them most of my life, but this is really what I experienced)
  • One thing I'll say, I wanted to get a civic si (new), but my local dealer had so many hidden fees the car ended up being $42,000. Down here in Texas I have yet to find a single dealership selling any of these hot economy cars anywhere close to MSRP. It's a joke. For a couple thousand more I bought an ss 1le, which you CAN get at msrp. I'd like to see this being brought to attention
  • @TheNeoCubest
I own an Elantra N and I love ripping by V8's while farting on them.
