I can't believe this was 7yrs ago but its so relevant to me now. Im currently stuck in a high functioning depression cycle. I procrastinate but still get things done, im basically doing enough to survive but not enough to live the life I want. Im stuck in a job i hate, with a boss who is such a bully and i dont even have the will to apply for a new job. I really needed this. Thank you

For years, before my dad passed away, he started every day by jumping out of bed (without an alarm) and shout so his voice rang throughout the house, “Good Morning, World!”
  • This woman is a genius. One thing that I've come up with in recent years is that yea, I never FEEL like eating healthy or exercising and it's so easy (especially when I've struggled with it my whole life pretty much) to just fall back into that comfy zone. The comfort zone is a myth, it's more like a death zone...it will KILL YOU slowly. I say, don't think, not on this type of stuff...just do...do what you know you need to do to improve yourself no matter how you "feel" because otherwise, you will always be trapped in that death zone AKA the comfort zone.
  • 1. Motivation is garbage 2. Knowledge action gap 3.counting backwards 5seconds rule 4. Say “I am excited to do this “more often Ask yourself why am I ready to do this ❤
  • A man I was dating told me "IT'S NOT WHO WE ARE THAT HOLDS US BACK, IT'S WHO WE THINK WE'RE NOT"! I am a worrier, never sure in my decisions. Thank you for your 5 4 3 2 1. I am excited to have this guidance.

The best thing about Tom is he lets his guest speak. And he doesn’t interrupt even after they finished speaking.. because many times people have more to add ! And he always does his homework !! Great Job Tom.
  • It's absolutely true when Mel said, "There are tremendous number of introverted people that feel uncomfortable putting the attention on themselves, but they are very, very confident in their ideas." I think I am one of those.
  • @anondoggo
“Confidence isn't assuredness, it's the willingness to try” wow, that's the best idea I've heard in a while. I can totally relate to this, sometimes I'm confident in my ideas but I'm unwilling to draw attention to myself.
  • And thank you very much for being such a great interviewer and not interrupting her all the time. I love how you ask her the questions and then let the woman answer.
  • I think I have changed as a person while watching this video. This video has shaken my belief system for good.
  • Here to spread some love and kindness to those reading this comment. Have the best day. You deserve it🧘🏻‍♀️

I'm 435 lbs on a weight loss journey I've lost and gained a million and one times. The whole day today has been about creating new HABITSSSS healthy habits Incorporating exercise into my life and my hobbies and being productive. I'm going to start doing this... I think it'll really help! I just need to take action. Like my deceased grandma used to tell me "Like Nike says Just Do it" Thank you so much for this message Mel and Tom! I think its going to take me places!!!!
  • @gloriaiarango
Budha said this before: "Suffering is caused by decisions not made". So once you have made any decision you were pondering on instantly you feel better and calm, even when the decision is something you know it's going to be painful, it just give you the certainty you need
  • @lisaherron2368
This has definitely helped me develop a new habit of not sleeping with my phone, hitting the snooze and getting up when I hear the alarm at 5AM. I am getting so much done in a day. #5SecondRule
  • @kesiafix6131
Confidence is not a personal trait, it’s a skill. Loved that one ❤
  • @marleygee2023
Thank you Tom for allowing Mel to talk without being interrupted. A lot of presenters don't have this skill. This message of NASA is amazing I feel that I have discovered treasure. And all for free. My heart is full of gratitude. I can already visualize my life changing. Much appreciated. I'm following your channel going forward. All the best to all of us. Cheers!
  • I used a lot of her techniques when I was teaching people how to drive. A lot of my students were terrified of driving and I would make them say out loud “I’m excited” right before we started and it really helped.
  • @kewlade719
The first time I skimmed through a segment of hers and heard her say, "you're never going to feel like doing what you NEED to do", I knew she was on to something!!! I'm inspired by her advice and knowledge and I will be returning to watch /listen to more when I get "stuck" again!! THAAAANK YOU MEL!
  • thank you very much for being such a great interviewer and not interrupting her all the time. I love how you ask her the questions and then let the woman answer.
  • I've been doing this for two days! Any time I catch myself having an anxious thought....."5,4,3,2,1 replace with boring mundane thought to replace it! Seriously think you might have worked out how to cure my anxiety! Thank you Thank you Thank you SO MUCH! Thank you!
