LoZ: Breath of the Wild - Mipha's Theme Remix | Caleb P.

Published 2023-08-12
Hey I'm back! (For now)

I'm officially a college student so I finally have the time to sit down and remix some tracks again! My life has been pretty insane over the time I haven't uploaded. I decided to return to remixing with the track I tried starting before my hiatus.

For my remix, I wanted to not make it super chill but not also a super intense song. I also incorporated my own melodies to either lead into the original melodies or sort of extended them.

I hope I can finally stay consistent with making tracks for a bit depending on how much work I have to do in my personal life lol

If you are new here, please consider subscribing! It helps me out a lot and you get to stay for more bangers like this one! Also, if you'd like to see a particular remix, feel free to drop your suggestions in the comments below! I'm open to all suggestions, but my greatest knowledge is Nintendo music.

Caleb, it's great to see you back! I know you've been super busy with your transition to college, but I'm glad to see that things have settled down enough for you to find some time to work on music and be active in the community once again. πŸ™‚ That's wild that you started this track before your hiatus, and major props to your for having the dedication and focus to see it to completion. I feel like resuming a track after several months can often be harder than starting a new track entirely, but you clearly didn't let that be an inhibition here! Your arrangement is, as always, so detailed and creative, and you have a real knack for taking beloved melodies and building upon them in ways that are fresh, yet in-theme with the original composition. For instance, that arranged intro is superb, and it really builds anticipation leading into the iconic melody at 0:47. And wow, the improvised part at 2:42 is so pretty! It really does feel like a natural extension of the song, and I could legit imagine hearing that in an official redux version. It's clear that a lot of careful thought and effort goes into developing these added segments, and I really admire that you put so much care into that aspect of your music. The instrument choices here are really nice, as well. I've become increasingly fond of flutes over the past few years, and it's nice to hear that being used as a feature instrument, alongside the charming bell and electric piano synths that are characteristic of your style. The synth bass works perfectly, too, and it has a warm sound that rounds out the mix nicely. Also, stellar work with the percussive elements! It's always such a treat to hear side stick/rim hits being used in place of (or in tandem with) snares, and makes for a distinctly mellow and chilled-out sound. Yet, as you mentioned, there is still plenty of energy in the rhythms and instrumentals, and I think you really nailed that middle ground you were going for! Once again, excellent work, and I hope you'll find yourself with plenty of free time to work on music in the coming weeks and months. Best of luck, my friend, and I'm sure you'll have a great experience!
