  • 3 Tips: Parrying is not an optional mechanic. Press your dodge button without moving to do a standing dodge. Same iframe but much faster recovery and you stay in place. Use force push to parry unblockable attacks.

Personally Jedi master is the perfect difficulty plus the charm from new game plus where it makes the encounters more difficult is amazing
  • Playing through on grand master is definitely all about patience and knowing what you can get away with with which enemies

I'd love to see customizable difficulty. I'd like to keep the parry timing forgiving and the enemy damage low, but have the enemy aggression on maximum.

The best thing about double lightsaber is if you upgrade it you can deflect almost all shots without loosing stamina. On grandmaster I was constantly switching between dual and double, for close and range combats, and perk that deals more damage after switch probably should've helped me, but I went all into force slow - filling it using stims, healing while using slow and healing by killing enemies during slow.

I play on the Jedi master difficulty, and still some boss fights feel too easy, but others are just right. Also the spike of difficulty from Jedi master to Jedi grandmaster is way too harsh in my opinion.

I love the fact that the game doesn't punish you for lowering the difficulty (no difficulty trophy/achievement). I'm playing on Jedi Master and if Im having problems with the Bosses; just plop the difficulty to Story, be done with it and back to Jedi Master. No point it stressing myself with multiple game overs. Also, the game is pretty generous with Shortcuts and Meditation Spots so dying is not a hassle.

I'm playing on Jedi Grandmaster. First few areas where a pain but then i started using my saber and force abilities better and my parry timing is pretty spot on. Me personally I've always enjoyed playing on higer difficulties. But, we all have our own personal preferences, so just have fun gaming your own way.

The higher difficulty I play, the more I lean towards double bladed. With so many blaster bolts coming at you and your party window being so small it’s nice to only have to deflect one to deflect all of them. Then swap to double blade or cross guard to clean up who is left depending on what I expect to be coming up against

I think Master is the perfect balance between a rewarding challenge and still being playable without raging.

Jedi master was the best difficulty to me. it was challenging but still allowed you freedom to mess around with the mechanics. Grand Master is doable but you really start to feel limited with what you can do as you have to rely on certain stances and abilities.
  • I really wish there was more difficulty customization. I want a “realistic” mode, where enemies are super aggressive and stuff, and do way more damage, but Cal also does way more damage because he has a freaking lightsaber. I just started on grand master. That rancor made me wonder if that one dude in Return of the Jedi really cared about his pet. No way that thing wasn’t severely malnourished or something. I hadn’t beat the game yet when I left this comment. Purity perk is torture. Careful what you wish for I guess. I love it.
  • Advice from someone who is playing on grandmaster, the double lightsaber is pretty much a necessity you should always be using it when your facing a group

Grandmaster usually is most difficult when there is a strong enemy in a big group of enemies. That is the mode I am currently on and have been using blaster stance with the dual wield stance. They pair really well together. Great video btw!
  • @sonicalj
Blaster stance was a life saver on Grand Master. Dealing damage from far away is the best way to go about playing on that difficulty.

Nice video Bombastic, keep up the good work and thank you for not spoiling the game for us who aren't able get the game yet in these videos.

Something I've noticed over the years is that flexible difficulty ranges like this or like in Skyrim are meant more for the type of experience you want. From a roleplay perspective, it would almost be more accurate to reverse the naming scheme: A Grand Master would make everything look effortless, and a Padawan would struggle but the most determined will win out.
  • Story mode: You are a Jedi Grandmaster Padawan: You are a Jedi Master Jedi Knight: You are a Jedi Knight Jedi Master: You are a Padawan Jedi Grandmaster: You are a Stormtrooper
  • Playing on Jedi grandmaster and your def right about having to learn certain enemies move types before even coming close to beating them.
