This video has been featured on other channels as well. I find this document to be a justified addition to my ever growing collection of audio and video recordings of Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli.
Since I was a young boy and aspiring pianist I have been fascinated with the enigmatic personality and artistry of this truly unique pianist, musician and human being. I was lucky enough to hear him a few times "live" and witnessed the transcendental character of his artistry from a few meters away.
A veritable miracle. "Ars longa, vita brevis."

Very interesting, and well done documentary. But, it always makes me sad to see that people who have developed the highest mastery of their art, like Michelangeli and Celibidache, and who were supported by many and who were enjoying great material wealth, getting angry so easily (over a lightbulb, seriously? that's so funny). Something is wrong here. Despite of all their mental and physical abilities they too were suffering a lot, and their great music was not able to somehow protect them from their own failures and go beyond. So far for all the talk about "transcendent consciousness". If your consciousness transcended, then why are you still angry?
