Pokemon's Designs Get Weird

This week, I took a look at some of the stranger designs in Pokemon Sword and Shield! Honestly most of the designs in Sword and Shield are fantastic, but some of them, especially a certain Pokemon and Trainer, just... don't make sense to me. Wooloo is absolutely amazing though! And so is Marnie. As for Leon and Impidimp... I'll get to them.

What're your favourite Sword and Shield designs? I personally really like Alcremie, the variations are super fun!

Do you think Leon’s outfit is reflecting how he’s trying to cater to a billion random sponsors and is losing his own sense of identity?
  • He's a sellout, he has a bunch of logos on the back, that's why he uses Charizard

Leon's outfit may be a total disaster but I kinda love it just because of how ridiculous it is

Styler: Imagine going over every pokemon in one video The aura guardian: nerveous sweating
  • At first, I thought that Impidimp was a bootleg pokémon. I'm not kidding Edit: I didn't knew my comment caused such a discussion...
  • Uno what if Leon turns out to be a corporate shill of a champion, the horrible fashion would make sense. As if a committee had come up with it
  • @Azaela
Imagine if Leon dressed up his Charizard with clothes similar to his.
  • Everyone’s talking about wooloo and grookey. Yet, drednaw gets no love.

Leon actually makes sense when you get to know his character. He is a bit airheaded and spaces out sometimes. He is fun-loving and doesn't take himself too seriously. He has a terrible sense of direction and gets lost IN HIS OWN TOWN. So he's like a big, goofy kid of a grownup trying to be a super-awesome pokemon champion. He is his own idea of what a champion looks like, I guess. Over-the-top.
  • I like his design - when I look at it, it feels like you can get his whole story. Remove his gaudy cape and you can see that he was the "Sports NPC" a year ago, dressing up in his obvious baseball jersey and shorts/legging and fought his way to the top until he became "The Champion". His character didn't change - he still has his baseball cap and jersey but now he sports a big "Champion Cape" that has a ton of sponsor stickers on the back. He is basically a walking Race car driver - I feel like after he loses, we could totally see him with less of the gear on out in the wilds somewhere, excited to show us what he's learned since our last battle.

This didn’t age well with impidimps evos released, now we have a clear idea of what impidimp is suppose to be. He’s a weird awkward imp then becomes an awesome goblin.

You know what’s another failure in design... Not making a new Pokémon ranger game... Edit I forgot the ending r in Ranger... How could o forget the ending r in Ranger.

Leon: I never lose! Everyone: I'mm about to ruin this whole man careers! Styler: distracted by his fashion and his short shorts showing his booty
  • @horsebox5138
I feel like Leon is a guy who prefers sports rather than being champion, and will have a character arc wherein he casts away his role of champion to follow his dreams, casting away his ad ridden cape

"let's talk about the parts I like about his design" says nothing "okay, now, lets talk about what I don't like" "let's start with the face, this is the part I like" ???????
