Leonardo DiCaprio in Wolf of Wallstreet “sell me this pen...” Japanese salesman “hold my beer”
  • As a Japanese, I love how the shop owner speaks. His Japanese is old, courteous and has affluent expression.

This is the type of person I would’ve found weird or dorky in highschool but as I’ve gotten older I now realize these are the best people to be around. Nothing but positive energy

This man has turned pen selling into an art form
  • This is straight up like going into a real world Ollivander’s wand shop. It’s wonderful.

Please let there always be shops like this in the world, where cultured, distinguished sales people who have learned their craft are actually pleased to impart that knowledge to the customer. No online merchant can compare to service like this.

I always enjoy seeing someone talk about their craft, doesn’t really matter what it is, it’s pleasant to see the pride and attention to detail people put into it.
  • The fact a shop devoted solely to pens is able to stay afloat is really an amazing feat.
  • Imagine this man has probably sold thousands of pens and asked the same questions each time and yet his enthusiasm probably grows each time. What a wonderful person.

His smiling face. So full of life
  • Me, being a pen nerd AND loving the sound of people speaking in different languages: THIS IS A MASTERPIECE

I wanna learn Japanese just so I can buy a pen from this gentleman

This makes me think of Harry Potter visiting Ollivanders
  • @audioxix
That salesman could literally sell me air and I would buy it.
  • I love the salesman. The way he speaks so lovingly of his pens, full of excitement, and his obvious effort to please his customer.

The fountain pen community is such a wholesome one at times like this. You don’t need to spend a lot, and as my local fountain pen store owner says, everybody deserves a good pen. Even if a fountain pen isn’t for you, I feel having a writing instrument you love is beautiful. We will lose the art of writing if all we and those after us know are disposable pens of poor quality who make your hand hurt. There’s so much more magic that can characterize a pen than just being a tool.
