Kids in Europe play Counter-Strike, kids in NA play Warzone, it's that simple
  • @Swicko
I said this in freakzoids chat "that eu has more players thats why they are better". And his american mods and chat legit tried to bully me saying i was reeee and so stupid. Actually crazy that people dont know common logic. More players = more competition = better players

cs2: an NA made game dominated by EU with the skins economy being almost wholey influenced by Asia.... cs is truly a global esport
  • @m.aurelius
As someone from Europe that knows Niko ( Nikola Kovač) irl, I can tell you that the culture has a massive impact. People recognize him all the time in the streets, and want to talk to him and take pictures.

Well as a finnish person i can say that why we have so many faceit level 10s in our kinda low populated country mostly comes down to the weather, for like 8months a year the weather is so awful that we dont really care to go outside and just prefer to play indoors. also so many houses have optical fiber internet that makes us play maxium of 30ping in many games. so i guess that helps. I started my cs journey when i was like 11 or 12 years old when i was on my grandpas house and my older cousin brought his laptop there. and now after 11years still playing

One of the reasons why we as europeans play counter strike is the fact that 1.6 and source could be played on almost anything. In my country there used to be a website where you could download it for free and play LAN on school computers during lunch break. Good ol times

You hit the nail on the head toward the end. It's a cultural thing. Esports is a life changing opportunity in EU, where here in the US you're laughed at and lack support (specifically speaking Counter Strike) from your parents if you DO choose that route. But that won't change anything until big orgs see the potential and make it the way it is in EU.. an actual career in esports.
  • Valorant was a big factor. EU didn’t embrace that game like NA did and I feel like not only did we lose a significant amount of the tier 2 NA pro players who were next up for a chance at tier 1, Valorant is more kid friendly meaning a lot of the young kids who could’ve ended up being the future of the NA Counter Strike scene are playing Valorant instead. We don’t have the future player pool

Its simple, eu has more players which means more teams, they have a healthy tier 2-3 pro scene, NA doesnt really have that, you can be a tier 2 pro in eu and have it be your job, in NA if you arent liquid, m80, complexity or NRG (i know there's like 2 more) you do not get payed to play, theres more leagues, more events etc in eu aswell

Great video. And just so you know, FaZe doesn't have a training "facility" in EU. They all live in their homes and practice from there and occasionally (few times a season) go to rentable bootcamps like Apeks' facility in Norway and Kinguin's bootcamp in Poland

I honestly think that the pro scene would be more balanced if covid never happened. 2019 saw 2 NA teams make top 3 and the short Liquid era that drove my personal love for the game since I started playing in the middle of 2018. When 2020 came around, along with covid, valorant came and a sizeable chunk out of the NA tier 2-3 scene. There were so many young players that made the switch and ever since then, you don't hear much about new NA prospects and there aren't many visible teams that compete in higher level tournaments. The cultural impact thing is also important as well. Many of my friends who barely played CS picked up Valorant and played much longer and grinded since there were more and more people in the Southern California region where I live that it became somewhat of a norm. It reminds me of the League of Legends esports landscape. Every time I talk to any Koreans, whether it be friends or strangers, they know or play league of legends. When I visit korea and I go into PC cafes, I can almost be assured that half of the people there are playing League and it reflects on the pro scene as well. Every team that has won worlds, outside of the first 2, has had a Korean Mid Laner. And that's just the Mid Lane as well.

This is why I have not understood the big departure of NA cs. Especially after they won the major in 2018. It’s gotten worse every year and we’ve seen more international rosters started in NA. Why????? If we want better talent, if we care about the players then why send it all away??? It completely blows my mind. NA professional cs is a fishbowl of who you know, not how good you are.
  • @albundy7459
Cultural thing. If NA had the greatest esports player in history walk into a mall, only a few teenagers would know who he was. If the Dolphins 2nd string QB walked into a mall he’d be getting hounded by fans for pictures and autographs. The number of kids who want to be pro athletes compared to esports is probably 50k-1. You aren’t going to get great players in a shallow pool.
  • Correction: NA has 1 major, the other 2 went to a entirely south american team (players, coach, manager and some support staff) they're just based in NA because competing from their region was impractical.
  • @cvbnmasdfax
really cool video, as someone who doesn't play much cs themselves but just follows the scene i'm glad this got recommended to me despite the fact that your other stuff is more play-oriented
  • @jinro9930
Hi Ryder just wanna make a reminder on the major champios from NA remember that twistzz is also a major champio with Faze so NA have in total 6 NA major winners :)
  • @riesenhummer
My man. You cant just b-roll of a massive bodybuilder just pressing the bar when its literally Jared Feather from Rp hypertrophy. The man is one of the most educated IFBB pros. Love your channel. This isnt hate or anything at all. I dont even know why that grinds my gears. keep doing what youre doing :)
  • @Luna0wl
What an awesome Video dude, I didn't know we europeans outnumber you that crazy in CS. Hope to see more Videos like this from you!
  • @apeologists
The population difference is definitely huge. In EU servers, I almost never played with the same players twice unless I was at the very edges of the bell curve. Nowadays you see NA queues having the same language barrier issues as EU, probably because NA just simply doesn't have enough people anymore
  • @lukes00
Super good point about basketball in US vs EU relating to CS in EU vs US. I always talk about this. 🔥 vid man, ive pugged w you a few times haha recognize the name
