Wife is on the same wavelength as Beyonce. There's a way Beyonce talks to women through her music that men usually don't pick up on. Especially, women who are about her age range. Some of us know that Lemonade actually began in Self-Titled.
  • I feel like Beyoncé has a deeper connection with women, your wife really got it.
  • I get that yall don't want to get political, but this is a VERY "political" album in that she is very intentionally addressing American history and that of Black people's contributions to American music, including country. I enjoyed the reaction. But also remember that Beyonce said its not a country album, its a Beyonce album. I'd encourage you to get online and take a look at the different conversations behind the songs. This album is EXTREMELY layered and intentional.

I love how she understood almost everything right away and he was never sold on a single theory 😂😂😂

Your wife was right about Jolene flowing into daughter thematically. Jolene is a warning to the other women and daughter is her sitting there smoking trees thinking about what she would do to “Jolene” if she tries her man. She also envisions hurting him too when she says, “how long can he hold his breath”. When she comes down off her high, she says let me go pray and/or go to church to help me from thinking these thoughts. Last, the Italian piece was sang because she is in a way “internally” hoping/praying for her husband to not stray away and do more harm to her by cheating. It’s like in Jolene she’s outwardly confident that she knows her man will stand beside her, but on daughter, she is internally unsure so she is praying to God to intervene and give him the strength to stay faithful and choose her. Almost as if she isn’t 100% sure he will.

Your wife is a GENIUS!! ❤ the way I have heard Protector so so many times already and NEVER linked it to The Giving Tree - unlocked an entirely new well of tears.
  • @djpgurl13
The Picasso comparison and her explanation of how Beyoncé treats music as malleable is such a great point!
  • @sovereigness3758
Your wife is totally right in there being a story AND it being brainy. This album is LAYERED, heavily. TikTok and YouTube reactions have done a great job of breaking things down if you want to dive deeper. But she does a great job of making it as fun or as deep as YOU want it to be
  • @lunabirdlove
your wife crying during protector made me cry again omg
  • @ShantaDB04
Hearing wifey talk about Bey getting more violent towards the end of Jolene is hilarious, especially when you know “Daughter” is coming up next 🤭😂
  • @cliftoncox3130
Your wife is awesome. You guys are great people. Thanks for being who you are 👍🏽
  • @jackson4001
"is spelled with two I's" "is it the second one?" in fact, it is 🤣 the wife is always right without knowing it. cowboy carter is the second album in beyoncé's triology project, and that's why she put two I's in every song title.

For Ameriican Requiem as an "older" Beyonce and Destiny's Child fan there used to be soooo much criticism towards Beyonce over her accent and some talk show hosts would about how she sounded like she lacked an education bc of her accent. It was really bad for a while and that paired with other things is why she pulled away from the public spotlight. She stopped doing interviews, promotions, interacting with fans, etc
  • @larondarenea
Given the history behind the original Blackbird (please check it out), Beyonce uses her version to uplift the newer upcoming black women in the country genre telling them to fly. Then she lets them sing, giving them a platform, a chance for their voices to be heard
  • @GirlofGlamour89
So Beyoncé didn’t just want to give country as we have been “trained & taught”. She took it and gave us the roots of country. Every song that wasn’t what you would call country was just showing the aspects that were influence. Country is an influence of gospel, rock & roll, Irish, blues, Latina music styles. She took all of that and put it in there. So for the songs where you were trying to connect the lyrics, it’s wasn’t necessarily about the words but the actual music
  • “This is not a country album, this a Beyoncé album” said by Queen B herself 🤭
  • The Giving Tree nugget is MUCH appreciated! That bit of the reaction made me emotional too once I searched the book.
  • @empyrean196
“I ain’t no regular singer, now come get everything you came for”. Best line on the album. It’s stage performance readied.
  • @GoddessKry
Blackbird is for the less known black country artists featured on the song. They are the ones that are gonna fly
  • @Skittlez323
Beyonce: "AOTY I aint win. I ain't stuntin bout them" Them: "So she's still tryna get AOTY that's basically what this is" How did u get that out of that sir😂
