Levi Lavallee's Tri-5 is considered the "Most Fun Snowmobile Race Ever!" The points are made up and the finishing order doesn't matter, it's all about having the most fun! For our C&A Pro Ski team, we went with a pristine 1997 Polaris XC 600 triple! We switched off drivers between myself, Ryan Greenwaldt from C&A, Leah Bauer, a professional snowmobile racer, and David Fischer, also a professional snowmobile athlete. We had a few small breakdowns, and maybe one that wasn't so small, but ultimately we finished 3rd in the 'sprint' race, which was a 30 minute overall run. Unfortunately our big break happened during the longer enduro style race, but Levi himself was nice enough to offer us one of his sleds to finish off the run. I had some troubles with my personal flexibility the next day, but it was all in good fun!

Thanks to Luke Schultz Media for the edit and filming!

  • Looks like you guys had a blast and that's awesome! On another note, as someone with a spinal cord injury, I thank you for helping to raise funds for SCI research!

I think you had piston or pistons issues. It looked like a blast .

Hard to call them vintage or old school when they aren't even 30 years old. Bring out the late 70s 340s!

Nice stash Zack , I’ve said for years if only you would grow a stash , Tom Selleck could come out of retirement to be your stunt double .

Wish I woulda known you were coming I live 2 miles from giants ridge huge fan
  • Gotta love those old Polaris machines!! Sweet sound! Good times!
  • My last sled was a 1999 XC 600, so when I saw your video title (vintage) and thumbnail, it got a little rise out of me. Then my wife reminded me that it was nearly 25 years ago! 😂

Who da thunk that 90s machines would be classified as vintage in my day the 50s sleds were vintage
  • Looked like a bunch of fun. Some real nice older sleds there that can still go. I rode for years but never got into racing. Know that fits you to a tee Zach. Good event for a great cause. Some real nice older sleds on the video. Just great. Thanks Zach. The Iowa Farm Boy. An old old old sleder himself.
  • Zach there is a trend with you breaking other peoples equipment when you’re riding/driving it?! Lol Gawwwwd! I had a 97 700 RMK with a 144 track and I also had a 600 triple that was a match to that white one and they’re so fricken loud with pipes on them haha. One of the reasons I started riding arctic cat was because there were too many times I had to ride out of the mountains on one ski because I broke a trailing arm or radius rod.
  • As an avid MF and BTR viewer from the Iron Range my disappointment in Zach for his pronunciation of Biwabik is immeasurable. However, I’ll still be here for the fun 😂 grew up on Giants Ridge and had such a blast there.
  • You should come to Elk River next Jan. for the annual Ride In. We have a classic show as well as drag and loop racing. The travelling race teams come in from all over North America.
