to me what makes the nutcracker more terrifying than the other monsters is how when you or somebody else is fixing to get got it's up close and loud: brakken rustling then reaching out and snapping neck, thumper and eyeless dogs letting out roars then chomping down with nutcracker it's: squeaking shoes, moment of silence broken by the slight click of the gun, then BANG especially in this case frightening when you are in another room and all you hear from the next room over is the gun going off meaning your friend just got blasted and the squeaky shoes implying your next
