The Witten--Reshetikhin--Turaev SU(2)-invariants at levels k = 1, ..., 500 of a certain 3-manifold containing a link whose colouring is varied. The trace of the colouring is shown in the lower left corner. The discrete jumps are an artifact of the colourings being quantized.
