Mysterious Glassware

Published 2023-12-26
I have some question about the identity, uses, and replacement part sourcing for two pieces of lab glassware that I purchased recently. If you know any of the answers, please let me know in the comments.

I think the second one is supposed to be oriented 90 degrees CW to the way you were first holding it. So that the tapered ground cone section is facing down. Then some product is probably deposited in pure crystalline form on the outer wall of the inner tube which is cooled by some liquid on the inside. Either that or if the inner tube is quartz and it may be a receptacle for a mercury pencil lamp or something for admitting UV light to the vapor for photochemical reactions.
