My father always taught me to take my time and do things the right way, the best I could. I absolutely love how you take your time with this boat, and the results never disappoint. Love the color scheme, but more than that, it’s obvious that this boat is being very-well constructed and should hold up very well over time. My hats off to you sir! Looking forward to eventually seeing you launch her, but that’s a ways off yet I think. Keep taking your time with her, not skipping any steps.

How magnificent to hear you honour your father. Your dad, you and a tin of paint! My dad, me and a can of WD40! Special memories.

Take a look at this man, he got all the time on the world to concentrate and do the job right. If I was to do it I would be covered all with paint

She's really starting to look like a boat, Bob! Glad I'm catching up on this series.
  • As a 55 year old man I've been through my share of troubles and trials. Disappointment and abuse. As thick a skin as any. But, I misted up when you took that final tape off. Just beautiful. Oh, and, tipping off after rolling! Head slap!!

What a "labor of love". That paint will be stunning even when it weathers a little.

Small tip when doing boot stripe or top-to-bottom transition. After taping, but before painting the stripe color, paint the tape seam with the base color. This really seals the tape edge and the subsequent stripe paint wont seep underneath the tape at seams. Makes it real sharp. Beautiful color scheme!

Bob, she's looking fantastic. Can't wait to see her on the water. Great job!
  • The punching of the rim seems more a way to remember your Dad. Such rituals are important to me as well.

  • As we are accustomed to you, accuracy in work through the search for the best methods, and the best sources for materials. A full explanation of the stage and aspects of the work and the options available. As for the colors, no one has the right to interfere, because it is due to the considerations that you set from the beginning. I would love to follow you to the end of the project.
    Good luck.

Beautiful paint job. Did not think those colors could look so good on a boat.
