Radically Reframing Aging with Maria Shriver

Published 2023-01-18
“I think reframing #aging is a fascinating conversation and one that we really have to push front and center. It’s political, it’s professional, it’s personal, and for me, it’s also a spiritual conversation.” –Maria Shriver, award-winning journalist, and author, at the 2022 Century Summit.

We loved this conversation between Maria Shriver and 𝗞𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗹𝗮𝘂 of Bloomberg News! Maria describes all the projects she is taking on: new businesses with her sons, a film with her daughter, The Women's Alzheimer's Movement - WAM, the Radically Reframing Aging Summit, the task force on aging with California Governor Gavin Newsom, and the list goes on. None of that stopped her from inviting what seemed like half the audience to connect with her on new project ideas, as Shriver herself states: “There is no shortage of subjects I’m interested in

  • In my early 40’s I completely changed my field of work. I’m thankful everyday.
  • I truly value what Maria is saying. A 2nd career-teacher at 63, looking at what's next. I need, want to keep working- but, ready for a NEW CHAPTER. Highly creative, sensitive, curious. My I parents are passed, never married. Grandmother lived to 95, faith, good health, mentally fit- a very strong, caring role model. I miss mother who invited ALL to join any family gathering.
  • I love being a grandmother I am a much different grandmother and grandparent then my grandparents were and my mother was very loving to all of my children but we are very different in this generation of grand-parenting. Also the cost of living is so high it's just seems to be in our nature to help our children out as care-giver grandma's. We do it because we see they need us and appreciate our help and input. And to be very honest sometimes it's a lot of work and though we love them tremendously It's not as easy as some might think. I am 69 and my peers and I have very strong bonds with our kids and grandkids. I was a childhood provider for 25 years plus in California and I raised 5 kids and I think it's part of who we are as grandparents today wanting to help our children and offer support to them and encouragement. I am the grandmother to 9 and I have 1 granddaughter who is almost 7 with cerebral palsy she cannot walk or talk but she is a happy spirited child and the light of all of our lives reminding us constantly to take joy and feel grateful for every little blessing.

After Retiring at 65, I know now 5 more years would have really mentally prepared me more. I so miss my co-workers.

Please check out her mosh bars and the ingredient allulose before you eat any of this very processed item. I don’t call it food because food to me is nutritious. This bar is not nutritious. Check out the side effects of allulose which is an additive and sugar sweetener……not natural…..it’s a chemical made in a lab.
