People in western New York are digging themselves out today, after more than a metre and a half of snow was dumped onto the region. Slammed by a historic snowstorm that has closed roads, triggered driving bans and left thousands stranded, local residents — no strangers to big storms — say they've never seen anything like this. Jennifer Johnson reports.

In Niagara Falls, another 15-30 cm of snow is expected on Saturday night in the same lake-effect snow squall. Tomorrow, the winds shift and might bring the snow to the north end of Toronto, which hasn’t seen much snow as of yet. Chief meteorologist Anthony Farnell reports from Niagara.

The COP27 climate summit in Egypt was supposed to end Friday, but went into overtime as world leaders hashed out a new agreement to tackle the climate crisis, and to compensate the smaller nations bearing the brunt of it. But which countries and industries will pay for it and how much? Mike Drolet reports.

Weeks into November, much of Canada is already seeing its fair share of wintery conditions. Yet in British Columbia, a severe lack of rainfall continues to take a toll on the west coast. In the Fraser Valley east of Vancouver, homes were even put on evacuation alert this week over a wildfire. Neetu Garcha explains.

FIFA 2022 host country Qatar has a poor human rights record — notably over the treatment of migrant workers leading up to the tournament. Today, FIFA's president tried to deflect criticism by saying he understands discrimination — attacking what he calls “hypocrisy” from western nations. But what about the government's treatment of LGBTQ+ members? Redmond Shannon has more.

Finally, Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is on the home stretch of his 10-day foreign tour, touching down on the final stop of Tunisia for the Francophonie summit today. Today, Melanie Joly announced sanctions against three new Haitians. Tomorrow, Canada is set to host a meeting of 13 other countries on the topic of the deteriorating situation in Haiti. Mackenzie Gray explains.
