If you modified humans to save humanity, did you save humanity?

Being alien is so nice, that this man did it twice.

If I had a nickel for every time Sam Worthington played a soldier who volunteers to get turned into an alien to better explore an inhospitable extraterrestrial moon, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it's happened twice.
  • I seen this movie. It was pretty cool. I just wished they expanded on it or took it further in a dystopian manner, like getting to Titan sooner and watching Earth perish while trying to save as many people as possible.
  • The main issue I have with this movie is that it uses surgeries to justify enormous changes to the characters without having much of a reason behind it. I was on board with the eye surgeries and else, but when "a surgery" takes away their capacity to speak, and fuses their fingers (for some unknown reason), and so forth it becomes evident that the movie makers just wished to show these advanced and different beings, instead of treating the project as a serious step that humanity could take in order to survive. Something that could've been done would have been to have the characters over the course of time (with a sudden spike after a while) start rejecting earth's atmosphere, and start preferring to live in the pools, and later in gas chambers filled with nitrogen. Once there have them being shown while they develop these adaptations, make them adapt slightly different and more Make it look like their DNA is truly no longer human and their body is starting to change on its own, instead of using a surgery to justify those changes; it makes the reveal seem like that was the intended result, and that most of the surgery was cosmetic instead of necessary. That being said I did enjoy most of the movie, but I got infuriated after that scene. Yeah, I think the aliens look cool but it also felt like a lazy way to implement them. Overall I'd hope to eventually see a revamp of this movie, in which the experiment part could be taken more seriously as an honest attempt to make humans (or something as similar to humans as possible) into a creature capable of surviving in Titan.
  • He can't repopulate the alien world alone. He was sent to die.

Living on Titan would suck. The guy is alone and there is no internet.
  • This man was also sent to Pandora and later took on an alien form.

In case anyone else missed it. The movie is called: The Titan

This was a difficult watch. One of those movies where everything is happening to the protagonist while the protagonist drives nothing. Also, love that the entire movie was showing how they are adapting them to swim in Titan's methane oceans and then in the final scene it shows him flying over them. Also seems like a pretty big waste of resources to send one man alone to die on Titan. Also seems it would have been better to adapt humans to adapt to the changing conditions on earth than to adapt them to Titan.

So basically the Tally superhuman randomly killed her husband and messed up the whole thing, because if she didn't, they were both ok with going to Titan. Dumb move.
  • @acy5836
So why did they just made experiments so that people can adapt life on earth instead of titan ?
  • The soldier they sent to Titan, came back as a Mad one to take revenge... Thanos
  • It's like I'm watching 6 movies in one hour already lol thank u movie recap 👍
  • Besides the question: If you change humans into a different species entirely. Have you really saved humanity..? What is the point of sending 1 male of the new species you've created?! As he cannot populate Titan without a reproductive partner. Why I thought it was strange they killed off Tally. As they were hinting at her & Rick developing a bond. Along with their human spouses potentially hooking up after they left for Titan.
