This tour was particularly notable for the personal troubles the band members were struggling with at the time, most notably Dave Gahan's heroin addiction. The video is the last release to feature Alan Wilder before his departure in 1995.

In 2004, the movie was re-released in DVD. The film is the same, but there are extras, such as songs that were left out of the VHS movie for time (but they have to be viewed separately), isolated footage of setlist projections, an interview with Corbijn on Devotional, pictures from the Devotional Tour booklet, and all the music videos from the Songs of Faith and Devotion era. For the first time, the complete soundtrack of Liévin is available (Halo was the only missing song before the release of the 2 DVD set). Only a few dead airs and speeches were edited.

In 1993 Depeche Mode were:
Alan Wilder
Martin Gore
Dave Gahan
Andrew Fletcher

The reason why I public these concerts is because I know that not everyone has the money to buy this type of material that the band offers, in addition to the fact that the physical format has become less common, I don't make money with this, I just make the material of one of my favorite bands more accessible to everyone

We need Devotional Blu-ray in 2023!

I’d die for a 4K remaster of this concert, after 101 got the treatment this really deserves to be next.
  • This (and the 101 Concert) to me remain Depeche Mode's best performances. These are not only concerts, but totally inmersive experiences of all senses. What a bliss it must have been for anyone attending these...

Alan playing drums......soooo hot, miss him so much 😢❤
  • In your room - what a dark, brooding masterpiece of a song! Alan Wilder on drums is just awesome

The energy of this concert is incredible. Dave enjoys every moment, leaves everything. The sound, the songs, the choirs, the stage design, alan playing the drums, the madness of Dave jumping into the public and the desperate security team trying to get him back on stage. Every time I see this show I get goosebumps. This concert reflects the spirit of the original Depeche Mode, dark, torn and synthetic. Thanks for sharing!

Seeing Alan Wilder on the drums is just godlike, he does not overplay them like Christian, just right to the point

Sorry, i know Dave was in the throws of his heroin addiction here and martin was a raging alcoholic and andy had a seizure due to stress from this tour and then Alan quit after this - but this was PEAK Depeche Mode. Theyre my favorite band of all time and their live show is still second to none in my opinion - but this was peak Depeche Mode. We need this in 4k Blu-ray - Jonathan Kessler, if youre reading this make it happen

The Devotional tour(s) were probably the best in Depeche Mode history. Great Set lists from top to bottom, Dave was exceptional on stage (backstage is another story but he eventually got right) and of course unbeknownst to everyone, Alan’s last hurrah as a Mode man. Depeche Mode may be nearing their end but their music will go on til the end of time

Alan just jamming out on the drums was amazing. I'm really sad he's no longer in DM

Alan Wilder - Martin Gore - Dave Gahan and Anton Corbijn one of the best powerful and creative driving forces we’ve ever witnessed. Long life to these 4 amazing characters.
